Weight Distribution System for Kodiak Cub 175 Travel Trailer

Question:

When choosing a weight distribution/sway control hitch, what are the weight considerations i.e. tongue vs. total weight of the load? I have a 2018 Toyota Tacoma V6 and will be pulling a Kodiak Cub 175 travel trailer with a dry weight of 3,532. Would the E2 that handles 6000 GTW and 600 TW work for my setup? Also, why would someone opt for trunion vs round bars? Is there a difference? Thanks,

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

For a trailer with a dry weight of 3,532 lbs the E2 kit part # FA94-00-0600 that you referenced which is a round bar setup or the # FA92-00-0600 for a trunnion would be a great option. Trunnion setups typically have much better ground clearance and are easier to install the bars into the head so whenever available it's the way to go. Also worth noting the heavier duty spring bars are only made in the trunnion style.
