What Trailer Tongue Weight is Fastway Weight Distribution System FA94-00-0600 Ideal For
Question:
I am new to towing, and am looking to purchase a used 19ft travel trailer to tow behind my 2018 Ford F-150. I would like to get a weight distribution and sway control. A fastway Item # FA94-00-0600 caught my eye, since 6000 lbs seems like enough for the type of rig I am looking at but I was wondering if I should just wait until I purchase the used trailer? Thoughts?

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
If you are absolutely sure the tongue weight of your future trailer would be around 500 lbs then the # FA94-00-0600 would be a great choice, but since this kit has a somewhat limited range I'd rather recommend you wait till you know for sure what the trailer's tongue weight will be.
