I have a solution for you to provide a 6-Pin connector on your 2005 Suzuki XL-7, but we do not offer a 6-Pin socket that plugs into the factory wiring system. To wire in a 6-Pin socket, you will first want to install a 4-Pole harness with a converter box, like # C55372. The taillight converter will take the separate lighting system on your XL-7 and combine the signals to be compatible with the trailer's combined wiring.

To provide the 6-Pin socket and the hardware needed for installation, I recommend using the Brake Controller 6 and 4 Way Installation Kit # ETBC6. This connector will plug into the 4-Way harness and has wire leads for the brake signal wire and 12V power wire. I have attached a help article on installing a similar kit with a 7-way connector that will provide helpful information on installing the # ETBC6 kit for you.

If you need an installation kit with a 7-Way connector, you can use # ETBC7 instead of ETBC6. I have attached a photo showing the different connectors for you.

The ETBC6 kit will provide the wiring and hardware needed for you to install a brake controller. I really like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885. This is a proportional brake controller that offers a digital display, 3 boost levels, battery protection, and will perform continuous diagnostics. I have attached a review video of this brake controller for you.
