Which is Better Curt or Equal-I-Zer Weight Distribution
Question:
Comparing the Curt C17500 vs. Equal-i-zer EQ37100ET. Both have the same capacity, both use the square bars. Curt uses detent balls in the hitch head, not sure if the EQ has sway control in the head. Video only addresses friction of the bars. EQ is quite a bit more money. Which one would you choose?

Expert Reply:
Between the Curt # C17500 and the Equal-I-Zer system # EQ37100ET I would go with the Equal-I-Zer as they are the originators of this style of weight distribution and have stood the test of time. Some argue this is the best WD system on the market. Also, there have been a few people who have had problems with Curt WD system frame brackets bending so I don't usually recommend them.
The Equal-I-Zer uses 4 points of friction sway control. They are the friction points in the head of the system where the bars can pivot as well as where the bars rest on the frame brackets. This comes with a shank and hitch ball as well. To install the ball you will need a thin wall socket like part # ALL643216.
