Recommended Drop Shank for Weight Distribution Systems and Travel Trailer Compatibility
Question:
I have a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 4 wheel drive. I am pulling a 32foot Volante Travel Trailer weighing about 7500 lbs. The hitch provided with the travel trailer has a 6 inch capability but I need a 10 inch . I have a weight distribution system that connects in. What would you recommend as a replacement hitch to get the 10 inch and pull the travel trailer more safely. Thanks.

For your trailer to tow level using your weight distribution system, I recommend the Curt Weight Distribution Shank 13" Long # C17124. This will provide up to a 10" drop when using round bar weight distribution systems or up to 9" drop with trunnion bars. This is the deepest drop shank we currently carry from any of our manufacturers and it will work with your system as the shanks are interchangeable on nearly all systems.
