Installation of Redline Round Gooseneck Coupler SAC2516-I
Question:
I purchased a SAC2516-I gooseneck coupler a few years ago. I set it at the right height and tightened the set screws/bolts holding the inner tube. I am afraid that the bolts will slip and the trailer will fall on my truck. Should I drill holes in the inner tube so that it holes better? Would this cause the bolts to shear? I was thinking of drilling holes smaller than the bolts so that only the tip would penetrate. Your response is appreciated.

We do not recommended drilling the Redline Round Gooseneck Coupler # SAC2516-I. Since this unit has two set bolts, each with a locking nut, you do not have to worry about the coupler suddenly dropping down to its minimum height. So long as you appropriately tighten the bolts and lock nuts you should be just fine.
And a big thank you for your many prior purchases from etrailer!
