Under-platform ladders are great for providing quick access to your boat from the water without taking up valuable deck space. The sliding design of this ladder allows it to attach under the deck and collapse into the mount when it's not in use for a clean look. The strap secures the ladder when it's stowed to ensure that it stays in place.

To deploy the ladder, simply unhook the strap and slide the ladder out of the base. The telescoping legs can then be quickly extended down for use.

Sturdy, Durable Construction

The ladder rungs are covered with UV-resistant, non-skid plastic step pads that ensure steady footing. The ladder is constructed of high-quality 316 stainless steel, which resists corrosion and pitting. The steel has also been electropolished to remove impurities and create a smooth surface free of imperfections. As a result, the ladder is easy to clean and even more resistant to corrosion than untreated stainless steel.

Video Transcript for Jif Marine Boat Accessories - Ladders - 315-FOG3 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the sliding under platform pontoon boat ladder. This is a three-step design. The drop ladder provides an easy way to board your pontoon boat after a swim. It does feature the sliding pullout ladder design that mounts under the deck. It's designed to collapse into the base under the boat for easy, out-of-the-way storage, and then pulls out and telescopes down for use. It's very easy to do.

Basically these rungs right here, telescope into one another. Then this portion slides into the bracketing. You also have the included rubber strap right here that secures the collapsed ladder for storage. When you're ready to extend it out, you undo the strap, pull out your rungs, and allow it to drop into the water. Real nice easy-to-use design. It comes with a construction, we're looking at an electro-polished 316 stainless steel.

It's very strong and durable and extremely corrosion resistant. On each step we have a non-skid platform that ensures safe, secure footing. It's a nice safety feature to have. Also, these are slanted at a downward angle so they're very easy to get onto as you're coming up out of the water. Each pad measures around 7-1/4" long by 1-1/2" deep. The bracketing is all pre-drilled and ready for installation.

It also comes with installation instructions to help walk you through that process step by step. Mounting hardware is not included.A few measurements I want to go over with you real quick. I measured from the top of the unit to the very, very bottom and got a measurement of 34-3/4" long when fully extended like this. From the outer edge right here to the same form on the other side is 11-1/4" wide. When it's in the stowed position just like this, very front to very back, so from outer edge to outer edge, has a front-to-back measurement of 15".

Side to side, including the hardware that sticks out on the side, about 12" wide. And then bottom to top here at the bracket is 2-5/8".When it comes to the spacing of each platform, you can see here that's welded onto the upright, so center on center, each one's separated by about 11-1/4". The mounting bracket on this piece right here, so I took the measurement from very front of the mounting bracket to the very back and got a measurement of 11-7/8". Again, outer edge to outer edge, side to side is 12" wide, and then the actual portion that makes contact which is right here, this width is 1-5/8" wide. There's four pre-drilled holes on each side. These holes are separated on center by 1-13/16". This one to this one is separated on center by 6-1/4". Side to side they're separated on center by 10".That's going to do it for today's look at the sliding under-platform pontoon boat ladder with a three-step design.

  • How To Install the Sliding Under Platform Pontoon Boat Ladder
In regards to installing the Sliding Under Platform Pontoon Boat Ladder part # 315-FOG3, this will be pretty straight forward. Position the unit where you would like to install it, mark the hole in the flange, drill out the holes, then secure the steps using hardware you provide. I recommend stainless steel hardware. If you like, you can use carriage bolts and place them through the top of the floor so that you don't have to worry about sharp points. That said, hex bolts will work as well....

  • Can I Use Camper Steps For My Boat?
The only thing that will be perminatley installed when using the Brophy Camper Scissor Steps # AS24 is the bracket that connects to the top of the steps. This only requires 4 screws and is not that big of a bracket. These steps are intended for use with a camper or at least with something that will allow the bottom step to rest on the ground. I do not see this working that well with your boat. I remember getting up on ladders on a pontoon and the ladder always want to slide under the...
