Solution for 2006 Ford F-250 w Integrated Brake Controller that Doesnt Work Well with Brake Rite
Question:
I have a 2006 Ford F250 manufacture date of 05/05 with the integrated brake control. I installed the Titan electric over hydraulic SD system with disk brakes. The slide on the controller will cause the trailer brakes to stop my truck in the parking lot no problem, I hear the actuator running and all not sure when I hit the peddle as the truck is pretty loud, but I dont think it is trying to build as much pressure from the peddle as maxing out the slide. After all the tests, I put on the adapter for 2006-2012 Ford/Chevy trucks T4845900 and now the Check Trailer warning comes on like my truck is not connected to the trailer. Do I take off the adapter or leave it? Only comes on for a second or two and then goes off. Does this off and on while towing. I just dont want to be without brakes when it counts and the warning chime gets a little annoying as well. Thank you for your time,

Integrated brake controllers are pretty notorious for not wanting to work well with electric over hydraulic actuators like the Brake Rite # T4813102. Even with the use of the adapter part # T4845900 they can still be difficult.
Your best solution is going to be to replace the integrated controller with one that is designed to work with an EOH actuator like our best selling Prodigy P2 # 90885. You will also need the adapter part # 3065-P to install it in your truck. This will eliminate the headache of trying to get your brakes to work right and will allow you some peace of mind knowing that your trailer brakes will be there when you need them.
I attached a help article on installing the brake controller for you to check out as well.
