Will Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera Work with a 2008 Ford Escape and 2001 Ford Van
Question:
Will this work correctly on my 2008 Ford Escape? My concern is that the license plate is fairly high 44inch from ground level and that the sensors might not be able to be adjusted correctly for the height. Also, what is the width of the sender unit on the top of the frame? end-to-end, sensor-to-sensor Next, any thoughts for a 2001 Ford E-150 van? The license is mounted again fairly high AND on the right rear door...

Having owned a Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera # HM50002 I can tell you that the height of the 2008 Ford Escape or the 2001 Ford Van would not be a problem because the camera angle can be adjusted quite far down so it would not be an issue on either vehicle. The outside to outside width is approximately 12-1/4 inches.
On the van you would have an off center view unless you were to place some washers on one side where it mounts to the vehicle so that it is pointed more toward the center of the vehicle. However, even if you left it as-is you would still see a good deal to the side of the vehicle.
