The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR uses a 12V powered remote that wirelessly connects to the 12V powered braking unit. This wireless remote has an inertia-based sensor in it that can sense the braking of the towing vehicle and communicates that braking need to the towed vehicle. The remote also give you a manual override feature like brake controllers do to allow you to apply the brakes in the towed vehicle as you determine necessary. It also has a light indicator so you know when the brakes are being applied on your towed vehicle from the cabin of your towing vehicle.
