There are two possibilities. If your 1999 GMC Conversion Van has a tow package, there will be a port in which to plug in a wiring adapter from the Hopkins Agility Electric Brake Controller, # HM47294, to the port. It is part # HM47795. I have included a link to the installation details below. You would then need to install an Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole, # 37185. But, if the van has a round plug with a cap inside the driver side frame rail instead of a bundle of wires in the jack storage compartment, use Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connector, # 30955.
If you do not have a tow package, you will first need to install Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # C55338 (installation details linked below). And then hardwire a 7- and 4-Way installation Kit, # ETBC7.
I have included a link to an FAQ article on installing a brake controller from scratch and two videos featuring the installation of an ETBC7 kit.
One tip I can give you is to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993, to find the stop light wire on the brake switch. The brake switch is located above the brake pedal. Using the circuit tester, find the wire that carries a signal ONLY when the brake pedal is pressed. It should not show a signal at any other time (when the blinkers are on or when the vehicle lights are on) just when the brake pedal is pressed.
