Timbren Axle-Less Setup Recommendation for Pop Up Camper Trailer

Question:

Id like to replace the leaf springs/axle on this trailer see below and add a torsion axle system. I also think I should probably size up the wheels, so well need tires and wheels as well. Not sure what size youd recommend. Id want trailer deck height no more than 14. Were building a tear camper on top of it, weight will be 1500 lbs, probably 1200 lbs. Im not sure if the rails of the trailer would be strong enough for a axle-free system, so Im all ears for recommendations for tires, wheels, axles, etc. specs are below 5ft. x 8ft. heavy-duty trailer. Overall Dimensions L x W x H in. 136L x 76W, Wheel Size in. 12, Deck Size L x W ft. 8 x 5, Frame Material Steel, Load Capacity lbs. 1,715, Gross Vehicle Weight Rated lbs. 1,980, Payload capacity 1715 lbs 1980-lb. max. GVWR Meets or exceeds all road-ready specifications Includes two 5.30-12in. tires, light kit and coupler.

To keep the deck height low like you want you would want the 4 inch drop Timbren axle-less system part # ASR2KHDS05 for a torsion style axle setup. This has a 2k capacity so it should be right at the same capacity as your trailer.

For hubs to fit this system you would want the part # 84545UC1-EZ. This has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern so for a wheel in the tire size you have listed you would want the # AM30820.

You might contact the manufacturer of your trailer to determine if an axle-less system would be okay for your trailer.
