How to Remove a Broken Thread Chaser Stuck in a Weld Nut

I was working on installing my Hidden Hitch to my 2007 Honda Odyssey. Since the weld nuts had been exposed to the element for the last 8 years they were a mess. I was using a commercially purchased thread chaser to clean out the threads. All was going smoothly until the last one....the thread chaser broke off with the head still in the weld nut. Cant find anyone locally to drill it out and I dont have the right drill bits. The only thing I will be using the hitch for is a three bicycle bike rack. Any work arounds or suggestions?

I spoke with one of the installers and they told me this has happened with hitch installation on several of the vehicles we put hitches on.
The first thing to do is use a punch to get the thread chaser out. Then cut the old weld nut off if it doesn't go with the thread chaser.
I found where you purchased the # 87479 hitch from us. If this is the hitch you are working on reinstalling you can contact the manufacturer at 1-888-521-0510 and tell them which hole you are needing the hardware for and what vehicle you are working with. They will know just what is needed and be able to help you out. You will want to make sure you use hardware that is rated high enough so as not to compromise the integrity of the trailer hitch.
If you want to let me know which hole in the hitch you are dealing with I can talk to my contact at Hidden Hitch and find out what is needed. It appears as though there are 6 mounting locations and they use spacer blocks for each. Just let me know which hole is the problem and I can see if I can help find the parts needed.
