Troubleshooting Installation of Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness # C56165 on 2012 Toyota RAV4
Question:
I just installed the Curt wiring harness on my 2012 RAV4 - but am getting NO signal when I circuit test the trailer connector. The vehicle lights are working fine. I checked all the connections and everything seems to be OK - however, it doesnt seem that Ive got any power coming through the line thats directly connected to the battery. The fuse is installed and not blown. Im pretty sure nothing snagged up or shorted when I ran it under the chassis. Any clues or troubleshooting specifics? Also, in case its part of the problem, the vehicles lighting connectors did NOT come connect directly to the lights as shown in the video I assume that may be a slight difference between the 2011 video and 2012, which is what Ive got, but rather the vehicles connector is wired to the lights - but there appears to be only one way to make the connections, which is what I did. Any suggestions?

Since you mention that you aren't getting any signal when testing the connector on the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness, # C56165, for your 2012 Toyota RAV4, I recommend testing the 12 volt power wire right behind the wiring harness's converter box. If there is no power then you will want to trace the wire looking for damage. If you have power on the 12 volt circuit, you can move on to testing the wires coming out of the converter box. If these wires do not show power when the signals are activated, the converter box could have shorted out and it will need to be replaced.
I have included a help article for you.
