The Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller # 90195 can be installed with a custom-fit wiring adapter # 3025-P in trucks that have a factory 7-way, or it can be wired using the included harness with 4 pigtail leads and part # 3025-S along with brake controller install kit # ETBC7 if the truck does not have a factory 7-way. It sounds like you may already have one or more of these parts.

Brake controller wire colors and functions are as follows:

BLACK wire (12V input power) connects through a 30-amp circuit breaker to the battery positive post.

WHITE wire (ground) connects to the battery negative post or to a bare metal spot on the chassis.

RED wire (braking input signal) connects to the COLD side of the brake light switch, which carries a signal only when the pedal is pressed and at no other time. You can use a tester like # PTW2993 to find that one wire.

BLUE wire (controller output) is routed to the 7-way socket to the pin at the 5-o-clock position as you look at the socket from the back of the truck (please see the photo).

You can refer to the linked article for more on this installation. You'll need to make two wiring connections under the hood and also at the 7-way. Photos are included in the article to help you.
