All you need to install a brake controller like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 in your 2005 Ford F-150 with a factory 4-pole is quick-connect wiring adapter # 3035-P and 7-way socket # 37185. The wiring adapter joins the controller to the under-dash port on the truck and the 7-way converts your existing 4-pole flat trailer wiring to a 7-way format. You will use the wires that are tucked away under the rear bumper to make connections with the pigtail leads on the # 37185.
You will need also some additional wiring to reach from the wires under the frame back to the 7-way. You can use a suitable length of # 10-2-1 and butt connectors # DW05745-5.
