7-Way Trailer Connector Needed for 2015 Ford F-150

Question:

I have a 2015 F150 with a 5.5foot box. It has the standard 4pin trailer connector. I need to add a 7 pin connector with trialer brakes and a 5th wheel. I have a Reese 15000 on my old F250 now. So Id like the rail pack Code: RP50087-58 Trailer brake controller Part Numbers: 39523,22292 I need a 4 to 7pin kit. What kit will work with my F150?

I recommend using the Hopikins Adapter 4- to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185. This connector will work with the existing 4-way connector on your vehicle. Using this adapter, you will be able to tow trailers with 7-way connectors or 4-way connectors.

There are a few additional parts we used when installing this connector. When connecting to your existing 4-way connector, dielectric grease # 11755 will help to protect the connection. We recommend securing this connection with a zip tie and electrical tape. In order to reach the connection points needed for the blue and black wires on the adapter, we used additional 10 gage wire # 10-1-1. We used # 05732-2 butt connectors to make our connections. Two butt connectors come with that part number. In order for your 12-volt holt lead to have power at your connector, you will also need a 30 amp fuse to install in the #21 place and a relay in the #9 place in your fuse box. To help keep installation look professional, we use one foot of wire loom # 459075-1

I have attached an installation video of this adapter on a 2013 F-150 for you.

I also doubled checked and confirmed that the Reese Fifth Wheel Installation and Base Bail Kit # RP50087-58 and Tekonsha PowerTrac Brake Controller and Plug In Harness # 39523, # 22292 will fit your 2015 Ford F-150. Another installation kit you can look at is the Reese Fifth Wheel Custom Base Rails and Outboard Installation Kit # RP56034-53. This kit will have a much easier installation because of the outboard rails.
