Where do the Spacer Blocks Go for Curt Trailer Hitch Installation on a 2014 Fiat 500L
Question:
It is really unclear from both the diagram and the verbal instructions whether the spacers go inside the bumper or between the bumper and the hitch. Given that they are called spacers and that theres a space between the hitch and the bumper, Id think between. But the instructions have you fish them into the bumper which seems to mean inside. Which is it?

Helpful Expert Reply:
What the diagram is trying to show is that the bolt and spacer block get routed through one access hole and the bolt will stick out of the adjacent hole with the block keeping it in place. So the block and bolt head are inside the bumper with the threaded part of the bolt sticking out.
The bolt and block will need to be fishwired into place by running the bolt leader through the hole the bolt will eventually stick out of and then out through an access hole. You will then put the block and then the bolt on the bolt leader and pull it through the access holes and into place.
I have included a couple of links that should also help.
