Getting More Ground Clearance on a 2012 Lance 1575 Travel Trailer or Other Trailers
Question:
Hi, so this is a lower riding trailer, good on the highway, not so good on big speed bumps, driving sharp ungulating terrain

I have a couple of options that will give you more ground clearance depending on how your 2012 Lance travel trailer is set up.
First, if the trailer uses double-eye leaf spring suspension AND the axles are on top of the leaf spring stack, AND if you have a 2-3/8 inch diameter round axle, you can use over/under conversion kit # K71-384-00 to move the leaf spring stack to the tops of the axles. For a 3 inch diameter axle use # K71-385-00.
If the trailer does not fit the criteria above then the other option is to have the suspension hangers cut off and new, taller ones welded on by a qualified professional welder. I have included a link to the hanger main page for you.
Please note that raising the height of the trailer also raises its center of gravity making the trailer more susceptible to sway.
