Over/Under Conversion Kit For 2022 Lance 1995 Travel Trailer

Question:

I own a Lance 2022 #1995 TT and want to raise trailer approx 3. I spoke with Lance and they recommended the Over\Under Conversion Kit. What is the difference between that and the lift kit? Does either tow differently and is there any issue with voiding the Dexter Axle warranty with either. Thanks

Good question, and the Dexter Torflex lift kits are for square torsion axles, while the over/under kits are for standard round axles with double-eye springs. Your 2022 Lance 1995 travel trailer utilizes round 3,500 lb axles, so you will need the over//under kit, with the correct part being the following:

- Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00

The # K71-384-00 will not void the warranty of your Dexter axle, and lifts your trailer approximately the same amount as your axle's diameter plus the height of the leaf spring pack. I agree with Lance's recommendation to go with this kit because it is the best way to gain added clearance and lift your 1995 travel trailer.

Kyle, I'm new to trailering. I've got the same 2022 Lance 1995 but mine has two axles. Would I need two of these kits?

@SteveW Yep, that's correct, you would need two for tandem axles.

@KyleS The deeper I get into this the more confused I get. Kyle, the suspension on my trailer has shock absorbers attached. Doesn't look like they can be repositioned to accomodate the over/under kit. Is there another solution to raise the trailer? Thanks.

@SteveW The only other option for a lift kit is the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit - Tandem Axle # RR23QX. This requires a 2-5/8" minimum distance from the I-beam to the spring mounting hole on hanger. I have added a link to the instructions as well which should help you determine if this will work for your set up.
