Difficulty of Installing the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13220 on a 2010 Audi Q7
Question:
I would like to put this hitch on my Audi Q7 in order to attach my bike rack. Can I install it myself? I am a professor not a mechanic! What else would I need for the istallation or does it come with everything needed? Is it suitable for a bike rack no towing. Thanks

I was an English and Literature professor a few years back so I know that academia can produce modern day renaissance men and women capable of installing a trailer hitch.
With that said, the instructions state that the estimated install time for the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 13220, is 3 hours (90 minutes for a pro). We have a scale of difficulty for installing trailer hitches. It is a 10-based scale with 1 being equivalent to attaching two legos together and 10 being quantum mechanics. This installation is a 10.
If you are not fairly skilled with automotive projects, I would have a professional perform the installation. An hour and a half spent on labor, for me, is worth avoiding the headache, hassle, and possibility that something will go wrong (see Murphys Law). With this hitch installed, you would be able to carry any hitch mounted bike rack.
