Question:
Is it necessary to splice the wiring or is there a plug-n-play type? Im using a Hidden Hitch type.

If your Hummer has the tow package, you can use the Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connector, part # 30955. This connector would plug into a socket located below the cargo area. This connector can accommodate either a 4 or a 7-way trailer connector.
If your Hummer does not have the tow package, there is not plug and play type option available. The 4-Pole Hardwire Kit, part # 18252 would be your best bet.
Installing this connector is pretty simple. Access the rear of your tail light assemblies where the wiring harness attaches to the tail light assembly. Starting at the drivers side, have a helper turn on the left turn signal. Use the included tester to probe each wire entering the tail light assembly until you locate the wire that lights up the tester. Use the quick splices and tap the yellow wire on the 4-pole into this circuit. Then, turn on the headlights. Probe the wires until you locate the circuit that lights the tester. Tap the brown wire from the connector into this wire. You will next need to go to the passenger side, and while the right turn signal is activated locate the wire that makes the tester light up and tap the green wire into that circuit. The white wire would be grounded to clean bare metal on the truck frame.
I will include a link below to a video that shows how to install the 4-pole harness. The video shows the harness being installed on a different vehicle, but the procedure for locating the correct circuits would be similar.
