Yakima SUP Dawg Crossbars

The SUPDawg lets you carry 1 or 2 SUPs fin side up on your vehicle's roof rack. This padded aluminum carrier includes integrated, adjustable straps, rollers for easy board loading, and a tail tie-down to secure your boards. The SUPDawg mounts to most crossbars without tools, and it includes locks to secure your boards to the carrier and the carrier to your vehicle.

Built-In Straps and Tie-Down Anchor

The carrier has integrated straps that adjust along built-in tracks to snugly secure your boards. The straps can be tightened or loosened by pressing the red buttons on the end of each arm.

Elastomer pads on the straps help grip your boards, and they protect your board rails against strap abrasions. The polypropylene straps and UV-resistant pads will last through many years. And built-in slots in the carrier contain excess strap length to prevent flapping as you drive.

Yakima SUP Dawg Tie Down

The included tie-down strap acts as an anchor - securing your SUP to your vehicle. The strap connects to a tie-down point on the tail of your board and hooks onto your bumper. If you are carrying 2 boards, secure the strap to the bottom board. A cam buckle lets you adjust the tension, so you can secure your board without damaging it. A flexible elastomer sleeve along the tie-down strap also protects your bumper from abrasions.

Easy Loading with Integrated Rollers

Yakima SUP Dawg Roller

Rollers are built into the ends of the carrier to help load large, heavy boards. Just set your board on the edge of the carrier, and push the board onto your roof.

Simple, Clamp-On Installation

Yakima SUP Dawg Clamp

The SUPDawg's mounting clamps fit most crossbar configurations without the adapters. To install, simply place the carrier on your crossbars and turn the integrated handles until the mounting clamps are tightly secured. If you have round crossbars, the included adapters will provide a secure fit, preventing the cradles from twisting or sliding on the bars.

Added Security

Yakima SUP Dawg SKS Lock

Locks on the ends of the carrier secure your board to the carrier and the carrier to your roof rack. After your board is loaded and the straps are pulled through to the back of the carrier, use the locks to secure it in place. Yakima's SKS cores can be swapped out to make all your Yakima locks keyed alike.

I use these 2-3 time weekly for my SUP I fish off my SUP and this rack is a great investment for quickness and ease of strapping. Thing I like best about etrailer is how fast I get my stuff.

After doing some research decided to go with the Yakima roof rack setup for our VW Atlas. Love the look and functionality of it all. Got the SUPDawg paddle board carrier to go with it. Love the locking capability for piece of mind when leaving boards unattended. We are VERY happy with our choice. Drove on highway with two paddle boards and it all went smoothly with zero wind noise whatsoever. Definitely worth every penny. Will recommend.

Received the the Thule accessories and Yakima Supdog from etrailer.com. It was all nicely packed into one box. As the box said, "the bottom of this box should not be the end of the relationship"
I can tell you it won't be! The items were shipped quickly, and they followed up with an email to make sure all was received well. Love the customer service! Also, the Yakima Supdog product is great. Took no time at all to get it on my truck and load up the 2 paddleboards.
It was exactly what I was looking to get!
Thanks!

The SUPDwag is easy to install and use. Made for Stand Up Paddle boards, but it can work with Surfboards. Wish it was a little bit narrower, hopefully Yakima will make smaller one for the surfing market.

I turned my unit around to the driver's side for loading, also protects rain from getting in the lock when driving.

by:

Great Product, mounts very well and sturdy to my stock VW carrier bars. Easy to install and easy to use. I would give this 5 stars if the length of the straps had been in the description. If the straps were 75" instead of 65" this would allow for more carry options. If you have 2 sups over 6" thick and 33" wide, I would search for another option. Many hybrid SUPs like ours are over 6" thick and very wide and unfortunately this carrier cannot accommodate 2 of our hybrids due to strap length.

by:

Put these on a Subaru Forrester. Very easy. Love the excess cord storage. Snugged down my paddleboard so well I didn't need the front tie down.

Love it.

When purchased I was concerned that the clamp down to my cross bars wouldn't work. Upon delivery I installed the SUBDawg immediately with no problems what so ever, the universal type clamp worked well. My wife and I put both paddle boards on after the install and went for a ride up to 70 mph, we felt no movement. The engineering of the tie down is awesome. I highly recommend buying the Yakima SUBDawg.

by:

Fantastic service! Speedy delivery and The sales team follows up with you to make sure you have all the information you need to use what you ordered. Fantastic company. Would highly recommend and I will use them again in the future

by:

Competitive price. Works as expected for a year now, no problems and very easy to use. I was surprised etrailer had these in stock while everyone else was out or drastically up charging.

by:

Great product. It works very well with two paddle boards. We can’t wait to use it as much as possible this summer up at Lake Tahoe.

  • Recommended SUP Carrier for a 12' Board
Unfortunately, the Thule Stacker Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs - Post Style - Folding - Clamp On # TH830 you're looking at can only handle up to a 10' long SUP, so for your longer boards I'd recommend going with the Yakima SUPDawg Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier w/ Tie-Downs # Y04075. This carrier is going to have length and width capabilities for you to carry your longer boards, will work with round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars, and has a maximum weight capacity of 66-lbs.

  • Is Express Surf Strap Designed to Carry Two Paddleboards
I spoke with my contact at Thule and she said that even though the Express Surf Strap would be long enough to secure two paddleboards stacked one on top of the other, it is not recommended because one board potentially could slide out from on top or beneath the other. We do have several carriers specifically designed to carry two paddleboards stacked. Check out the Yakima SUPDawg, # Y04075. This SUP carrier lets you transport up to 2 stand-up paddleboards on your vehicle's roof. I have...

  • How to Carry a Kayak and SUP on the Roof of a 2017 Toyota Tacoma
If you have the full factory roof rack on your 2017 Toyota Tacoma with both side rails and crossbars then we wouldn't have anything to work in conjunction with this. However, if you just have the factory raised side rails then you can add crossbars using both part # Y00422 and part # Y33TR. You can also add locks using part # Y07204. The crossbars are 60" long and are of an aero shape which will provide less wind resistance/drag. As far as whether or not you will be able to carry both...

  • Antenna Clearance When Transporting Stand-Up Paddleboards on 2013 Ford Escape or 2013 Toyota RAV4
When it comes to a stand-up paddle board carrier that will clear the antenna on a 2013 Ford Escape or a 2013 Toyota RAV4, I recommend taking a look at the Thule SUPDawg, part # Y04075. We installed this carrier on a Toyota 4Runner and as you can see in the attached picture, there is quite a bit of room between the roof and the paddle board so you shouldn't have any problem with antenna clearance.

  • Can Paddle Boards Be In Storage Bags When Using Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier
You should not have any problem at all using storage bags on your paddleboards in the Yakima SUPDawg Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier, part # Y04075 while traveling. You will want to make sure the bag opening is facing the rear of the vehicle and that the bags do not interfere with being able to secure the paddle boards so that they do not move. I have attached an installation video of this carrier you can check out.

  • Should Kayak Carrier be Used to Carry SUP Paddleboards
Kayak carriers really aren't ideal for carrying paddleboards since they are designed for securing something taller or "thicker" I am sure there's a way you could secure one to a Jaylow part # Y04073 but that's not something we'd be able to give you definite instructions on and you'd be doing so at your own risk so we'd not recommend it. Your best options would be a carrier designed for paddleboards like the Yakima SUPDawg Carrier part # Y04075 which can carry both of your SUPs on the one...

  • Roof Rack and Paddleboard Carrier Recommendations for a 2010 Subaru Legacy
The Semi-Custom roof rack # SR1010 is listed for your 2010 Subaru Legacy. Since it is semi-custom it won't be the best fit like a true custom fit rack would be. If you are interested in a true custom fit rack I recommend an Inno rack using the following parts: bars # INB137, foot pack # INSUT, and fit kit # INK851. With either roof rack installed you can then add a paddleboard carrier. The Yakima SUPDawg # Y04075 is a popular option. It can hold up to 2 paddleboards that are up to 36 inches...

  • Paddleboard Carrier Compatible With Factory Roof Rack on 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback
Thank you for that info, and based on my research you have the factory roof rack on your 2020 Toyota Corolla hatchback; while we do have an option for a paddleboard carrier that is compatible with your rack, the Yakima ShowDown # Y04081 is not because your rack does clamp to door jambs and its crossbars do not extend out past the feet, which is another requirement. Instead, I did verify with Yakima that there is a paddleboard carrier you can use which will fit your Corolla's crossbars,...

  • What Is Crossbar Distance Needed For Roof Rack Paddleboard Carriers
There is no preferred crossbar spread listed for the paddleboard carriers we offer. They do however list the minimum crossbar spread at 24-inches. This is the minimum distance needed for part # TH811XT and # Y04075. Both carriers have weight capacities and crossbar dimensions, so you want to make sure you select the right carrier that will work for you. If you want to let me know what roof rack system you are using I will be glad to make recommendations that will work.

  • Paddleboard Carrier and Roof Rack Recommendation for 2017 Mazda CX-5
The Yakima Paddleboard Carrier SUPDawg part # Y04075 that you referenced will be a great option, but let's get you set up with a roof rack on your 2017 Mazda CX-5 first. For that the Yakima aero bar roof rack that consists of part numbers # Y00425, # Y28TR, # Y06130, and # Y06154 is a confirmed fit and would work well. The bars of this give the least amount of wind resistance which means minimal wind noise.

If you have the factory roof rack on your 2017 Subaru Crosstrek the SUPDawg paddleboard carrier, part # Y04075, is confirmed to fit. If you don't have the factory crossbars on your Subaru you can add a complete roof rack and still use the SUPDawg. I recommend the Yakima RailBar, part # Y00448-0449.
