Roof Rack and Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier for a 2012 Mazda 5 with Fixed Points

Hi, I have a 2012 Mazda 5 w/fixed mounts, no existing roof rack. Could you please recommend a roof rack and SUP carrier? Thanks!

Since you want to carry a stand-up paddleboard, something that is going to get wet and get the roof rack wet as well, I recommend going with a roof rack that has aluminum crossbars for your Mazda 5. Aluminum is corrosion resistant so the water will not be a factor.

Take a look at the Rhino-Rack ROC25 Roof Rack for fixed mounting points # RR77MR. It comes with stylish elliptical aluminum bars and the feet mount to the fixed points on your Mazda 5. This is a good roof rack for a paddleboard carrier.

For a carrier the Yakima SUPDawg, # Y04075, is a great choice. It provides a capacity up to 2 boards, it will fit the Rhino-Rack crossbars, and will cradle your boards nicely. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you. This is the carrier I would use if I had the coordination required to use a stand-up paddleboard!
