Jeff: Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Taylor Made 40 inch long fiberglass low-profile dock box. Now a dock box is a big box that'll sit on a lake dock or a marina walkway, usually right in front of your boat slip. It is used to store items you don't need while you're out on the boat, or you've already gone home, and you can use it for life jackets, fishing gear, water sports skiers, electronics, most anything else that you could fit in there. Now technically you can even use this dock box on your boat if you have room, but it is mainly designed to be put onto your dock. It is a nice strong fiberglass construction.

It's very durable, uses a protective gel coat over the whole box, which makes it corrosion and UV resistant. And the latch on the front has a locking stainless steel latch right here.And what's nice about this. Let me zoom in and we can show you. I wanted to show you how it opens and how you can actually lock it. But if you notice this tab right here, if you just pull up on that, that'll unhook it and pull it up all the way, and then you pull the latch up and then you can lift up your lid.

And then when you close it, you just push it back down, make sure that goes under the hook and then just push it to latch it. But what I also want to show you is if you notice has a hole in that latch right there, you could actually put a padlock through there and lock it, keep anybody from getting into what's inside. And again, we mentioned it's stainless steel.Now it has a nice, smooth interior surface. Let me just open it up again, show you the inside of it. It's very nice, smooth interior surface, and that makes it very easy to clean, prevents any fiberglass splinters into your hands when you're storing or retrieving your items in there.

If you notice on that end, it has the gas strut that'll help keep the lid open on any rocking docks or if there's any high winds. And also it's nice for when you're closing it, because it gives you a nice, slow controlled closing. You can see it won't just slam shut. You can just make sure your latch is on the outside and then close it and then latch it.The latch we mentioned is a nice heavy duty stainless steel latch. Also wanted to show you if we can swing this around a little bit, the hinge right here, which almost goes to the length of the lid.

It is a nice stainless steel piano hinge. You might be able to see part of it there If I turn it far enough, makes the lid stay up nice and firm, closes easy. And also using the stainless steel on all the hardware makes it nice because when it's around water, that's your best material to have when it's around water.Now a few dimensions on this. I want to give you the outside dimensions. So widest or the longest point, the length of it is going to be the lid right up here. So if we go one end to the other, it's going to be right at 42 inches long. The width on it, right at 22 inches wide. And the total depth would be from the bottom to the very top right up here, so if we put that on, it's going to be right at 22 inches, look at that again, about 21 inches deep. Now the inside dimensions, we open this up and the inside dimensions, again, I'm going to just measure from here to that end on the inside. So if we do that, it's going to be right at about 38 inches long. The width of it on the inside is going to be right at about 18 inches wide and the total depth, which we'll measure from the bottom right up to the bottom here on the back here you can see is going to be right at about 16-1/2 inches deep.This part is made in the USA.
