Durable polyethylene can handle bumps, scratches, and UV rays.Inside of lid had a silver dollar size hole cut out of it with the plug laying in box floor. As box will be at a Florida dock, I'm sure hollow lid will be full of mold soon. Guess "made in America " doesn't mean much anymore. Nice "quality control" Taylor Made
