Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area. You will have to remove the plastic threshold cover, side panels, and cargo trays to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this T-One vehicle wiring harness. This wiring harness is gonna provide a four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle so that you can get hooked up to your trailer, allow your vehicle's lights to be reflected through to your trailer's lights so that when you're driving at night, other motorists will be able to tell that you have your running lights on. If you're turning or breaking, your trailer's lights will be activated. So it's gonna make it much safer for you and for other motorists so that your trailer is not becoming an obstruction to your vehicle's lights.
It will be reflecting your vehicle's lights as well. And the main benefit of a wiring harness like this is just how easy it is to get installed. And because it's basically a plug-and-play with these little adapters here, connectors, you're not gonna have to cut into your vehicle's wiring and worry about damaging the vehicle, splicing wires together, and that sort of thing. So this is a really nice option. If your vehicle or if your trailer has a five-pole, six-pole, or seven-pole wiring harness, we do have adapters available here at etrailer.com that this will work with.
So just a little intermediary step there to plug that in, get that connected, so that it will work with your trailer, but this will work for it. This wiring harness is specifically designed for your 2020 and newer Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. So there are lots of T-One vehicle wiring harnesses out there that are designed for different vehicles. You do wanna make sure that you're getting the right one for you because they have different adapters and different lengths and whatnot, so depending on your vehicle. This one will work for the 2020 and newer Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
So like I said, it is super easy to get installed. I'll go through a quick rundown here in a minute of what that process looks like. But they do include very detailed instructions to walk you through that process step by step. So it's definitely something that you can do on your own in your garage. You're not gonna have to take it to a mechanic or anything.
But this does have a ModuLite power converter that is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches your trailer's wiring. So sometimes, your trailer operates on a two-wire system where your vehicle operates on a three-wire system. I won't get into the specifics of that, but just know that this is going to convert that for your trailer so that your trailer will work properly, and it's not going to alter your vehicle's wiring at all. So it will work great for you. This does have a powered module that's going to connect to your battery so that you can avoid overloading your vehicle's electrical system. This provides five amps per circuit for your stop and turn lights and 7.5 amps per circuit for your taillights. So it is gonna do a great job. It's not gonna put additional strain on your system. It will just allow you to very easily connect to your trailer. So like I said, quick rundown of how this gets installed. This system here, this unit will be mounted on your driver's side. They do include some double-sided tape here, so you can mount that. Really basic process is getting the access back to your vehicle's lights, the harness where this connects to. So typically, that's removing some trim panels on the sides back by the rear of your rear hatch or the backside of your vehicle, right around where your taillights are. So once you get access to that, you'll mount this in place. It's very easy to get this connected. You just pull apart the tabs that are holding or connecting your vehicle's wiring to your taillights. They'll look almost identical to this, so you just pull those apart and then plug them in place here so that this is going to reconnect that circuit so that your taillights and turn signals and whatnot on your vehicle will work properly again. And then, it will also send that signal out to your trailer. So this yellow and brown side is gonna be your driver's side, it's the shorter wire. Since this is on the driver's side, you'll be right there next to it. They've got this white wire, which is gonna be your ground with the ring terminal already installed. They also have a self-tapping screw so that you can get that mounted to a solid ground, solid metal, probably just about anywhere back there, as long as it's metal, not painted. And then, you'll run this red and green wire over to your passenger side, basically do the same thing. Disconnect your taillights from the wiring, get this plugged in place in line and it will work for you well. And then, you've got this black wire, which is gonna be probably the most difficult portion of this whole installation. You've got to get power from your battery. Like I said, it's pulling power from your battery rather than overloading your electrical systems. So to connect to your battery, they have this black wire here and then this extender wire. And so you'll connect these two together with one of the butt connectors. Pretty simple to do, crimp in place. And then, you'll run this up to your battery in your engine compartment. You will want to make sure that you're staying away from anything that's hot or moving that could potentially damage this wire. So kinda snake that up through. They've got all these ties here for you to kinda make sure that it's held in place properly. Once you get up to the battery compartment, the other side of this wire, you will have your fuse holder. So you'll cut this in half. You'll connect one end with the butt connector here to your black wire extender. And then, the other side of your fuse holder will have a ring terminal that attaches to your positive battery post on your battery. And then, you can put your fuse in place once everything is connected. So it is gonna work really well for you to ensure that you're not gonna have any problems with it. Like I said, running this wire is probably the trickiest part just 'cause you do have to kind of work your own way through. But like I said, all of this installation is gone over in much greater detail in the instructions that are included for yourself. Really, a nice system, not having to worry about cutting the wiring in your vehicle, potentially voiding your warranty and that sort of thing. That's gonna be the main advantage of this system that it's all done external to your vehicle's wiring. It just kinda plugs in place, easy plug-in setup for you. This does have a padding material here on our unit that's going to ensure that all the wires there are going to be held in place. So even if you're going over bumpy roads for, you know, a long time, you're not gonna have to worry about those wires coming loose. It is gonna be very durable for you, and it's gonna provide that four-way trailer connector for you at the back of your vehicle. So I installed a system very similar to this on my wife's vehicle just a couple months ago. Like I said, it is very straightforward. You just have to get access to those connections back behind your vehicle's trim panels, which can be kind of intimidating for people who aren't familiar with working with vehicles. But it's really not that big of a deal. The instructions walk you through that whole process. So if you are needing to tow a trailer with your vehicle, this is gonna be a great way making sure that those trailer's lights are working for you. That's gonna complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.Product was good, install not terrible except the battery wire running, took about 2hrs with removing back panels. Shipping on the other hand was not good at all
Received today as expected. package was double labeled and secured with thick tape.
In order to connect the T wiring you suggested to remove the inside panels, did your engineers ever try it? It is infinitely easier to remove the tail lights and connect the T wiring in the housing and hide the wires under the trimming.
Very helpful. Shipped in a timely manner.
Would order agian!!!
Wiring harness went on just like instruction said it was easy and I thank you
Easy to use and plug and play
