Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the LED trailer tail light. This is going to be for your stop, turn and taillight functions, so it'll give you all three of those in one light. Right now we just have the running light signal on, so that's going to be our taillight signal. But there's three wires to connect. Ground will be the white wire.
The brown wire is going to be for your taillight signal and the red wire is for your stop and turn light signals. So we take a little closer look. You can see that light. It's kind of shorting out here just because I have my connection made with these little wires, so it's not the most secure connection with metal alligator clamps. There they go.So if we hit our turn signal or brake, it's going to brighten up and use the rest of those LEDs to give us that brighter signal that we expect for our brake and turn.
Turn the lights out in the studio inaudible 00:01:01 a better idea of what that looks like in the dark. So this is going to give us a nice long lasting light. The thing that I really like about having an LED light over incandescent bulbs is that you don't have to worry about changing out those bulbs ever, because with LEDs there are no bulbs. There's no filaments that can break on you. It's going to last a really long time.
And this light in particular is submersible, so you can use this on a marine trailer as well. Even if you're not, it's still going to be a really long lasting light, even if it's raining, going through dusty, muddy conditions. Should be able to last for a long time.Pretty simple housing. It is all sealed and potted on the inside so it's going to keep the circuit board from any kind of damage from vibration or impacts, so it's going to be a really durable light. Again, just the three wires to connect.
As far as size, the height is about 5 5/16 . or excuse me, about 5 1/2 inches there by about 3 1/2 inches. And then the depth is about an inch and a half. From the very front to the very back to that housing is about 3/4 of an inch or really more like 5/8 of an inch. Our wiring is about 12 inches long as far as that pigtail. It has a total of 11 diodes in the housing, and the operating range goes between nine and 32 volts. Has a limited lifetime warranty.And that's about all there is to it for our LED trailer taillight.
