Ford Flex

Easy install. Everything lined up on my Curt trailer hitch receiver C14360. 30 min install.
Also bought the Hopkins in-sight flex mount brake controller HM47297 and the Hopkins plug in wire kit for ford to Hopkins controller HM47715. This adapter saved me loads of time installing controller another 30 min install.
All was left was find my factory wires for trailer brakes and 12v battery supply and I was finished. I would say I spent 1.5 hrs installing and .5 hrs cleaning up. I use this brake controller in all my vehicles.

by:
Honda Insight

The brake controller to Ford wiring harness worked but it was barely long enough for the F-150 when connected to a Hopkins Insight brake controller with the controller mounted behind the left kick panel (behind the parking brake). I had to unclip the brake controller jack from the data port connector in order to have enough wire length to reach over and down to the kick panel area.

Have not installed brake parts yet but everything looks like it will work as described. Fast shipping will deal again.

They work great with the brake controller thanks

by:
2006 Ford F-150

The preassembled harness was a nap to install following the installation instructions. Just verify, when ordering what type of vehicle you have, ford, dodge etc. For the plug in adapter.

by:
Ford F-250 Super Duty

This adapter works fine, but needs to be at least 4 inches longer. The only routing I could manage to allow connection from the F250 trailer connector to the controller mounting position (required by the product) has the wires rubbing on the brake pedal. This will fail eventually.

I'd really like you to send a new, longer cable.

by:
2013 Ram 1500

Great product and service. I just hooked it up and everything works like it should, great product and service, received it sooner than expected, trailer brakes work great on my new trailer.

by:

It was nice to have knowledgeable help in deciding which trailer brake controller was best for my situation. Thanks!

by:
2005 Ford F-150

Well worth the money if you have the OEM towing package already in place. 'Plug and play'.

by:
1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Perfect fit into my '99 F250 Super Duty. The etrailer support staff provided excellent assistance with some minor issues and questions that I had concerning my vehicle's set-up. I'm ready to hit the road fully set up to tow! Thanks etrailer.com

Gold products, great prices, and excellent customer service. Any future trailer needs I'll definitely be back.

Easy install on 2003 F150 with Hopkins HM47294 and HM47715 adapter.

by:

Plug and play. It doesn’t get any easier for the install and looks factory

by:

This a great pigtail, a quick plug and play but it could've been about 3 inches longer, other than that it worked perfect

by:

The two items that I ordered, Are absolutely a perfect fit, and the brake control hooked up so easy.

by:
2007 Ford F-150

  • Hopkins Reliance Brake Controller Installation in 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty
You can install your Hopkins Reliance hardwire-type trailer brake controller in your 1999 Ford F-250 by using harness part # HM47715. Just cut off the flat connector, splice the wires to your Reliance color for color using butt connectors like # DW05745-5 and plug it in to the under-dash port as shown in the linked video.

  • Brake Controller Does Not Power Up on a 2006 Ford E-450 Van
Just to be sure, the Hopkins harness that you should be using for the 2006 Ford E-series van is # HM47715. Make sure that the factory fuse for the brake controller is installed. Use the van owner's manual to find the fuse and relay locations for the tow package wiring. I checked the owners manual online and it looks like there are 2 brake controller fuses. Inside the in-cab panel there is one in location 39. Under the hood there is one in location 10. If you have it all hooked up right...

  • Where is the Brake Controller Adapter Port on a 2007 Gulf Stream Yellowstone
According to my research, your 2007 Gulf Stream Yellowstone is on a Ford E-450 chassis. If that is the case then the brake controller adapter port, if present, will be located under the driver dash panel near the emergency brake pedal. I have attached a video which shows this location at around the 5:20 mark. In order to install the Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller part # HM47295 you will want to use the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Brake Wiring Adapter part # HM47715 if the brake controller...

  • Installing a Brake Controller and a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2005 Ford F-150 With Factory 4-Way
Unfortunately there are no plug-in adapters or harnesses that would allow you to replace the factory 4-way flat trailer connector with a 7-way or a 7-way and 4-way connector on your 2005 Ford F-150. To complete the installation for a brake controller on your truck, you will need a 7-way adapter like part # 37185 that you referenced. It sounds like you may be familiar with the installation process, but I have included some installation details below as well as a FAQ article on how to install...

  • Recommended Brake Controller and 7-Way for a 2006 Ford F-150
According to my research, the brake controller plug-in port was standard on your 2006 Ford F-150. Therefore, in order to use the Hopkins Trailer Brake Controller part # HM47294 you will want the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Brake Wiring Adapter part # HM47715. I have attached an install video for as well. The factory brake controller plug should be located under the dash to the right of the steering column. It should be located towards the center of the dash and may be tucked up and out of the way behind some wiring. I have linked an FAQ Article that shows the location of the plug. • What All is Needed to Install Hopkins Agility Brake Controller in 2001 Ford F-150
To install the Hopkins Agility part # HM47294 that you referenced in your 2001 Ford F-150 the best and easiest way is to go with the install harness part # HM47715 which is a separate harness not included with just the controller. The reason it's not included is because it's a very specific fit for your Ford truck and there are several others similar for other trucks so it wouldn't make sense for everyone to have to buy all of the harnesses for all the truck variations. • Brake Controller on 2003 Ford Expedition is Only Working with Manual Override and Not Brake Pedal
Yes, when a brake controller works with the manual override lever but not with the brake pedal that usually indicates a problem along the red wire. In this case, since it is a hardwire install the problem could also be the connection itself. You might check to make sure the red wire is making a solid connection to your brake switch circuit. This circuit should see voltage when the brakes are applied and none when the brakes are released. The most likely culprit is a blown stop light or...
