Recommended Brake Controller and 7-Way for a 2006 Ford F-150
Question:
I have a 2006 F-150 SuperCab XLT which has a 4 poll connector installed with a uHaul frame mounted hitch. I need to get this truck ready to pull a travel trailer so I need the 7-way connector and a brake controller. Im pretty sure it has no factory brake controller connection unless that is something standard on all of them. What parts do I need? I do like the HM47294 if that can be used.

According to my research, the brake controller plug-in port was standard on your 2006 Ford F-150. Therefore, in order to use the Hopkins Trailer Brake Controller part # HM47294 you will want the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Brake Wiring Adapter part # HM47715. I have attached an install video for as well.
The only other thing you need to set your truck up for towing a trailer with brakes is a 4 to 7-way adapter like the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole part # 37185. The brake (blue) and hot lead (orange or red) wires should already be ran to the end of the driver's side frame rail.
