How To Extend the Wiring Harness of the Hopkins Brake Controller
Question:
Im thinking about buying Part Numbers: HM47294,HM47715, but I dont think the harness p/n 47715 is long enough. My brake controller connector on on my 2001 F250 is approx. 2 ft away to the drivers kick panel and I have no center console. I already have a Hopkins extension harness. If the one that comes in your kit is to short can I splice the two together?

All it would take to extend the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Brake Controller harness # HM47715 so that it would be longer if necessary for you to install the Hopkins Brake Controller part # HM47294 would be 4 equal lengths of 10 gauge wire and butt connectors. You can use # 10-2-1 and # DW05745-10.
If you have a Hopkins harness already with the correct gauge wire you could also use that, but splicing in additional wire would be the easiest method.
I attached an install video that shows this brake controller installed on a very similar 2001 Ford F250 as yours.
