Where Does a Brake Controller Plug Into on a 1999 Ford F-53 Motor Home Chassis

Question:

I have a 1999 national seabreeze motorhome on a ford f-53 chassis. I am installing an electric brake controller. My question is, where is the brake controller port. I have the adapter that is supposed to plug in to a gray plug that is located next to the steering column or the emergency brake. I have spent over three hour trying to locate this. Can you help me

On the 1999 Ford F-53 chassis the brake controller plug is located up under the dash behind the instrument cluster. It is not easy to get to. Take a look at the picture I have provided that points it out. It also could be tucked behind or taped to another harness in that general area.

If the RV is a 1999 model year then it is possible that the F-53 chassis on it is a 1998. I cannot guarantee that the brake controller plug is present on a 1998 model.
