Easy installation and excellent cooling.

Desiring to improve the ability to cool the rig by adding a second AC installed using the bedroom vent opening configured as a stand-alone zone we choose the Furrion Chill HE kit. A secondary goal is to have an AC unit that can be utilized during BLM camping with our small inverter-generator to cool the bedroom. The FR85PV kit enables both goals and it is easy to install. I bench-tested the unit prior to mounting the AC unit on the rig. The Chill provides output air at 48.6 degrees F while drawing 9.1 amps in the run state. Inrush current was 44.5 amps. I had concern for the thermostat placement to prevent AC output air fooling the thermostat in a small room. I learned that the thermostat is a control point and not a temperature sensing point. The temperature displayed on the thermostat is acquired by a sensor in the return air duct opening.

I suggest two points of emphasis while installing the kit. First, take your time installing the two-piece divider that separates the cold air out chamber from the return air chamber. Ensure you have a good seal between the two chambers. Second emphasis involves the room temperature sensor in the air return chamber. The sensor is a short lead wire – I bent my lead in an L shape and pointed the sensor upwards into the room air return duct and away from the unit’s wire bundle to achieve the best sensing location.

I had Cornerstone Rv Repair located in Porter TX come out and install this for me. They were impressed with it and complimented it's ease of installation. Will need to see how it holds up against summer sun and heat here in southeast Texas. Looks very good on top of my trailer.

by:

It was so good to get all the parts to install this air conditioner, in one order. We had ordered from Camping World and had to order each part separately, this ended up with the parts arriving at different times and we had to wait on the thermostat for a couples of weeks. It was so easy withe etrailer and when they told us that it was on back order and the order would be in in a week and it was, and now it is setting on my from porch. My sister and her husband is needing an air conditioner for their camper and I am going to recommend she contact etrailer.

by:

makes to much noise have to turn it off at night so we can sleep

by:

Ordered the AC from her based on the shipping date and that their website said it would be delivered by Tuesday 5/16 when I placed the order. The item shipped and the same day for h to e most part but then the date randomly changed from Tuesday to Friday. Very different dates. There was no delay on the UPS side, the e-trailer website and staff just use wrong dates to get the sale. Had to have someone go to the house twice to pickup the item and move inside since they also shipped some parts via USPS.

by:

UPS Shipped the Air Conditioner upside down all the oil went the head of compressor.on the should have this side up.

I ordered my new furrion ac and it was delivered before time I haven’t installed it yet. I have ordered from ETRAILER before and they always deliver on time. Quality merchandise.thank you.

by:

Easy to install except getting up on the trailer. Your install video has very helpful. Install manual talks of switches to set, but my controller had no switches

by:

I was really surprised but installation was easy. Start to finish took three and a half hours including the removal of the old unit. This replaced a Dometic Penguin ii.

by:

Awesome addition to the 5th wheel easy to install and works great

  • Recommended BTU Air Conditioner To Cool 24Ft Trailer In 100 Degree Weather
There are a lot of factors that go into how quickly an air conditioner will cool off the 24ft Fleetwood toy hauler so I cannot give you a confirmed amount of time. An estimated amount of time according to my research is 1 hour in high ambient temperatures like 105 degree weather. If the RV is in direct sunlight it will take even longer to cool down. From my research a 600 square feet area in direct sunlight requires a 14,000 BTU air conditioner to cool it down so I recommend to go with...

  • Recommended Upgraded Furrion AC System That Has A Better Air Distribution Box
I recommend upgrading your Furrion Chill system with either the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR85PV which is a 13.5K BTU system, or Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR65PV which a 15K BTU system. Both of these systems come with the upgraded air distribution box # FACT12LA-PS which has 2 slotted registers to provide maximum airflow, 7 different color settings, and EVA foam to add a seal between the RV and ceiling to prevent leaks.

  • Can I Add A 3rd Air Conditio0ner To My Fleetwood Expedition Motorhome
Technically yes, it is possible to add a third air conditioner to your Fleetwood Motorhome. First, you will want to be sure your roof has adequate capacity to hold a 3rd AC unit. You can most likely get this information directly from the manufacturer. You will also want to be sure your RV has adequate capacity to power three Ac units at once. To add a 3rd unit and have it work with the existing setup, you would need to purchase a new AC unit, controller and distribution box. I am not...

  • Replacement Air Conditioner Recommendation for a Dometic 57915.731 Air Conditioner
I have a great choice for you. While we do not carry the Dometic line of A/C's and I had a hard time finding the specifics of your 57915.731, we do have A/C's that will work to replace a Dometic A/C. There are two different routes that you can take here for replacement. A complete replacement (inside and rooftop components) or rooftop unit only (works with the inside components already in place from your Dometic). I recommend the Furrion Chill A/C. I like these because they are some of...

  • Complete Replacement AC System for a Coleman Mach AC Unit Model # 48254C969
I completely agree the best option will be a Furrion. We have found that Furrion AC's are around 20% quieter than the older Coleman Mach AC units. Since you want to replace your entire system, I recommend the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR45PV in black or item # FR65PV in white. These kits include a 15,000 Btu AC unit, a LED air distribution box, and a wall thermostat. This system also includes a start capacitor to help when your generator doesn't supply enough power.

  • Can I Add A Digital Wall Thermostat To My Coleman Mach Air Conditioner
I do have a potential solution for you, but we do not carry the Coleman brand air conditioners. You may be able to add on a Coleman brand thermostat, but this would likely require a decent amount of installation including replacing the distribution box and wiring in a wall thermostat. We would be able to offer you a new AC unit with its own digital thermostat. If you want to switch over to a digital thermostat I recommend going with the Furrion HE # FR65PV. This is a 15K BTU air conditioner...

  • Air Conditioner Recommendation for 48 Race Trailer
The best AC unit for your 48' race trailer is the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR65PV. This comes with a start capacitor, ceiling assembly for a non-ducted application, and a wall thermostat for easy adjustments to your temperature. While this will help to provide some relief from the heat, I do believe that you'll need 2 of these for your longer trailer so I definitely recommend upgrading to the dual zone system # FR67FJ. This is basically the same setup just with 2 of...

  • Will Furrion Chill HE Air Conditioner System Fit with Dometic AC Wiring
The Furrion Chill HE Air Conditioner System # FR65PV uses it's own wiring system so you'll have to do a complete overhaul of your AC wiring system to install this. Sometimes it can still be a good thing to replace all of the wiring though, especially if it's an older trailer. You'll be able to tap into the power and ground wires but everything from the actual unit to the distribution box and thermostat will need to come out of the Furrion kit. Attached is a review video for you to check out!

  • How Does Condensation Drain From Furrion AC Rooftop Condenser Units
Furrion units like the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR65PV you were looking at have multiple holes in the bottom of the pan to allow for built up condensation to drain onto the roof. This means it will run to the lowest point of the roof (sides or back) and drip over into the edge into the rain gutter. If you'd prefer the water drains further out from the trailer you can add rain gutter extensions ( black # CAM42452 or white # CAM42134 ).

  • Will the Furrion Replacement Air Distribution Box Work W/ A Carrier AC?
No, the Replacement Air Distribution Box for Furrion Chill RV Air Conditioners # FACT11MA-PS you're referencing is only meant to work with other Furrion Chill ACs. If you wanted to use this with your trailer, you'd need to replace everything with the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone # FR65PV. There is not an option that allows you to piece together parts from other ACs to retrofit with your current set up.

  • Are Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner Thermostats All Wired
A wireless thermostat would be a nice feature for install, but the Furrion Chill HE air conditioners all have wired thermostats. That's the norm for RV air conditioners, so if you're okay with that, the Chill HE are a superb choice. These ACs have a built-in start capacitor which means it stores energy so the AC will always be able to power up when need be, and will work whether you have ducts or no ducts in your RV. You can choose from 13,500 Btu or 15,000 Btu, and Black or White in...

  • Furrion RV AC Unit Recommendation for Forest River Sunseeker that Has Non-Ducted Assembly
Since your current setup is a non-ducted RV AC unit you don't need a new unit that was designed specifically for Dometic applications since you are essentially just installing the unit in the same opening and will be using the lower vent and controls of the new unit. So, what you'd want is the part # FR65PV which comes with the thermostat, lower vent assembly, and single zone controller and you'd be set.

The Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR24FJ would replace both of your current A/C units and work with your ducted motorhome.
