2022 Mazda CX-30
The trailer hitch receiver arrived much sooner than anticipated and I had my mechanic install it on my new 2022 CX-30 Turbo Premium. Once mounted it felt very solid and technically fit perfectly. Unfortunately there was very little clearance between the angle piece on the left side of the hitch receiver and my muffler bracket (driver side of the mounted hitch receiver). This caused my muffler bracket to rattle against this hitch on the bumpy New England roads where I live, even at times when the car was just sitting in park and idling.
My last car (a 2014 VW GTI) had a Curt trailer hitch receiver and I had many good years of service from that part. It even included a rubber hitch receiver cover that was not included with this part for my 2022 CX-30.
I'm sure once my mechanic can grind away some of the hitch bracket to open up clearance between my muffler bracket and the hitch I will be rattle-free, but it is a little disappointing that out of the box this part does not have enough clearance to prevent muffler bracket rattle when idling or riding on bumpy New England roads.

Thank you for pointing me to your FAQ on how to address exhaust rattles. I will ask my mechanic to try longer rubber isolators as that would be a better solution than grinding away material. If I can correct my rattle through solutions identified in your FAQ I will update my rating on your website if that is possible.

after purchasing some muffler hanger extensions and having them installed, my Curt trailer hitch has not had any more problems with clanging or rattling. Ive been extremely happy with the trailer hitch over the last year.

I made the mistake of trying to save a day and a few bucks by ordering a receiver hitch from Amazon. It arrived damaged, even though the box appeared fine. I've then ordered the same hitch from etrailer, which arrived on the estimated date and in perfect condition! Customer service promptly answered my call, and the instructional video was detailed and model specific, making installation go smoothly. Will definitely shop here again!

excellent product but requires installation and installer would not "drill out or expand existing hole in frame, so he had to take off bumper of MAzda cx30 to install. cost of installation 250, rather than 125.

Overall great, however modifications to trim are necessary if you have a CX-30 Turbo. A vertical piece of trim going along the bottom of the bumper (presumably to block the view of the larger muffler) will need to be trimmed to fit the receiver up into.

WELL IT WASN'T A TRUE FIT LIKE THE VIDEO SUGGESTED HAD TO CUT SOME OF THE
LEFT HAND MUFFLER BRACKET OFF EVERY TIME WE HIT OR WENT OVER A BUMP THE
LH MUFFER BRACKET WOULD HIT THE HITCH MAKING A VERY LOUD NOISE

This is a fit for your vehicle and something that would fix the rattling is to slightly bend the muffler brackets so it relocates the muffler up or down creating more space between it and the hitch. I attached a link to our article that explains how to do it in more detail.

As others have stated: the hardest part of the install was enlarging the two access holes, the fish wires in the hardware kit make getting everything lined up a breeze. Taking five minutes to get the muffler out of the way is more than worth it... doesn't get much better than this! Very stout, nicely finished piece of equipment that was delivered in the time frame promised and all for the best price around. BTW no interference with hanger brackets whatsoever and did not to raise the car to do the install either

Hitch was in perfect condition when it arrived in just 2 days, excellent ?? interaction with salesperson.
She knew her business.
I installed myself, and removing muffler made the job a lot easier. It did take 3-4 hours to install. Making access hole bigger took the most time.
Not everyone has a die grinder handy, however hitch fit perfectly. Adequate clearance with muffler ( no rubbing or noise)
Very happy with the look of the hitch ( doesn't stick out )

Good quality hitch for a Mazda CX30. Was not hard to install, although I had a Mazda dealer do it. I paid an hour labor. The paint on the hitch is holding up well after one year.

Straight forward installation, maybe half an hour. Tight clearance so enlarging the access hole was a little tricky, but no problem.
The wiring harness was not so straight forward. Connection to tail lights/turn signals was easy enough after removing quite a few panels, but routing the primary wire back to the battery was challenging (read four hours). Went through the rocker panels that involved removing still more panels, finally drilled a hole through the firewall to access the engine compartment.
No real plan in the instructions for routing the wire, just “connect the wire to the battery, careful to avoid heat and rotating components.”

The hitch is great. I was just frustrated that I paid additional money to receive the item more quickly, and the hitch did not arrive in time period for which I paid additional money to receive the hitch.
