Well-made hitch, thorough instructions to guide installation.
This hitch went in exactly as the directions claimed. I have been using it all summer with my bick rack and works great. It is viually tight to the bumper and virtually not noticable when not in use.
Had this professionally installed on a 2017 Prius Prime. It pulls my 2 bikes (SARIS rack) and a kayak (separately). I would never pull anything heavier. It is a super tight fit, as in the top rubs on the plastic bumper panel. But with over a year in use, there is no sign of damage! It does not stick out obnoxiously, it is quite hidden. I thought that would be a problem, but it is not. Overall great purchase because I am now able to bring my toys with me.
Customer service agent was excellent, he was very friendly and went out if his way to make sure I received the correct hitch for my vehicle. The installation video on their website was also excellent, it made a fairly difficult install go smoothly. Thank you for a wonderful online experience.

Working like it should
I had never taken under body panels off. The videos on etrailer make this process extremely easy. I bought the trailer wiring harness and installed it at same time as the hitch. Took about 2.5 hours for everything and didn’t have to lift my car. I plan to tow a small harbor freight utility trailer for lumber and remodeling parts. I stood on the tongue, and at about 200 pounds myself, it felt very strong.
Excellent service again on the hitch for my 2018 Prius IV Touring. The videos and documentation were very helpful. It did take two of us to do the install and for amateurs there is a learning curve (how the clips come out, etc.) but we completed the install in an hour and a half. It is solid and looks like it came installed from the factory. I am very pleased with the product, my third from this company.

A year out and the hitch is working like a champ. Worthy product, that has worked just as I hoped.
Great product. However, I would not recommend trying to install alone nor an inexperienced dyi’er. It’s a very difficult installation.

Perfect But difficult to install
The receiver works great and is plenty sturdy,
I got a local garage to install it after seeing from the video how involved the process is for a Prius Prime. The garage confirms that it went just fine, but is not simple.
On the usage side, good news and bad.
Good: The hitch sits well back of the bumper's outer edge so is not very visible to passersby. for someone concerned about marring the car's looks this would be a big plus.
Bad: Being well back, it is more difficult to mount my bicycle rack to this receiver than it was on my previous one, which was also on a Prius. If you have a place to park such as the edge of a wall or pit while mounting to the receiver, no problem. For me the rack is kept at the back of my garage with rather poor lighting and a level floor. I think next time I'll use a dolly to get under there.
Works like a champ!
Installed on our 2016 Toyota Prius in about 90 minutes. Read the instructions, watch the install video and grab an extra set of hands and you'll have it installed in no time!
We are using it with a two-bike mount Yakima Holdup and a 4" - 2" to 1 1/4" adapter riser (We currently have a 2" hitch on our RAV4, so we can swap the rack between cars). Sways a little bit, but some black duck tape around the 1 1/4 inch adapter eliminate most sway.
I tried installing this myself, but I don't have a socket wrench and so I ended up hiring some professional help to install. For the cutouts to the plastic baffles, I sealed them with Gorilla tape for extra protection. I used a CZC AUTO Expandable Hitch Cargo Carrier Bag which fit perfectly in the rack. The whole system performed flawlessly on my 5000 mile cross-country trip. The attached picture shows the rack and bag on the tail end of my Prius with the Habitent I used for camping.
I am pleased with the final look of the hitch on the car. The steps to get there were simple. Ordering was easy, shipping was free and arrived on time. After watching the video on installation, I realized that it would be a lot easier on a lift than lying on the ground with a roller board. I had the local Toyota dealer mount it. He raved about how perfect the fit was and said it was the best designed hitch for a Prius that he had ever worked with.
Your website and purchase was easy and pretty accurate about matching the product w my car model and year (2018 Prius). The product got shipped on time to my address and the item was in perfect condition.
On the installation, it took some time but it was nice to have a second person to help me. Specially someone who has power tools. The video really helps make things go faster and not make any mistakes.
I am using it to install a bike rack since I don't want to place it on top of my car.
I would definitely recommend your product to a friend.
Hitch was back ordered for a while. Once it arrived, easy to self install. Install videos were great. I use this light hitch for a bike rack. Perfect for that application.

Hitch was easy to install. Working great. Only use for carrying bicycles.
I received the trailer hitch in a very timely manner. I had the hitch installed by my local Toyota dealer. The hitch looks great .....barely visible. It works well on my 2020 Prius. Grateful for the informative videos and compatibility info on etrailer.com.
Perfect fit and the instruction video was excellent. I’ve always purchased from etrailer.com and never been disappointed on products and services. I do recommend leveling the hitch before final torque. Thanks again for helping me with my towing life!!!
I installed this hitch about a year ago for my 2023 Prius and used it as a hitch for my bike rack. It has worked great! The value price was right on. I did not install the hitch myself but when to my local body shop. Would reco this to anyone.

Works great, but was very challenging to install! (I did it myself, but would recommend having someone else go through the trouble instead.) I'm using on a 2019 Prius AWD-e. I purchased for use with a Kuat sheep 2.0 and toting around mountain bikes. The whole package works well for my needs and looks fantastic--hard to tell its there when nothing is attached, it sits perfectly flush the the under-bumper. Just finished the first winter and there is only a small amount of rust from road salt.
I have not installed the hitch or wiring harness yet so this review may be of limited value. The search and ordering process was quick and easy. Based on past products I have bought from t etrailer I believe this will be excellent as well.
The install wasn’t as bad, it did take some patience though. I’d say the install took me about an hour and a half. I haven’t added a bike yet but I took the car for a drive and the bike rack (hitch) didn’t budge at all. So the real test would be the bikes when they come in.
Excellent product, delivery, and design! As advertised it was a challenge to install, but well worth the effort. Being full time RV'ers we tow our Prius on a dolly and need to move the dolly occasionally. This dolly is too heavy to move very far by hand. I think this hitch will serve us well.
A little challenging to install but I found an online video from etrailer that was super helpful for the installation. Finished installation looks great - trailer hitch receiver is barely noticeable.
I took it to U-Haul to install. Works great. Very solid and holds my bike rack in place so I can carry my bike on my Prius safely.
Great online experience. The Curt Trailer Hitch fit like a glove. The mechanic who does my oil changes installed the hitch for $100.00 bucks. Great vaule and nice people and nice company. A+

I use this hitch every week in nice weather and am totally happy with it. Its tight profile to the car is really great.
