Curt Trailer Hitch # C11473 - What Is The Torque Spec For Bumper Bolts?
Question:
Hi, This is regarding a: 2018 Prius Curt trailer hitch Instructional video talks about reinstalling the bumper beam socket bolts and using a torque specified in the instructions. I dont see any instructions on how tight I need to make the bolts. Can you tell me what torque I should use, or point me towards those instructions mentioned in the video [5 min, 43 sec]? Thanks,

Hello Mark, when installing the Curt # C11473, the curt instructions say to torque the bumper beam bolts to 23 ft lbs. I have linked these instructions for you below. It rare, but not unheard of for Curt to change certain bolt torque specs, so I do encourage you to refer to the instruction manual that came with your hitch to confirm this torque spec.
