Using a Bottle Jack

Begin using the bottle jack by placing it on solid, level ground in a vertical position under the vehicle or object you wish to lift. Determine the best lifting point to support the jack and line up the piston ram underneath it. Once everything is lined up correctly, turn the lever switch at the base of the piston clockwise to allow you to move the piston up and down. After you have the vehicle or object lifted to the desired height the jack will automatically lock into place. To unlock the jack, simply turn the lever at the base of the piston counterclockwise and the hydraulics will slowly move in a downward motion.

I have never used it but it looks to be of decent quality. I have it stored in my utility box in case of an emergency.

by:

I don’t really know yet, but it is very compact and should be useful if my Airstream has a flat. It’s very hard to get to the airstream jack

by:

Needed to replace the tires on my ACME EZ Car Tow dolly, the 12 inch E Load tires are not carried in stock at my normal tire store. ACME trailers did not have any tires available and they suggested I try E trailer for assistance. GLAD I DID, excellent service, I purchased two 12 inch Load Range E tires, and a 2 ton bottle jack. The order arrived ahead of the scheduled date and in excellent condition. I will definitely use this company again.

by:

Have it in your truck when towing.

by:

Decent price with excellent options for replacement parts.

by:

Quick service, free shipping and order was packed well and received with no damage. Would definitely refer friends to etrailer.

by:

Nice small jack! Perfect for changing tire on trailer!

by:

Both items arrived early and in good condition. The service was (as always) excelent! I will definitely purchase from etrailer again.

by:

I was able to order exactly what I needed and it arrived in only a few days. Very happy.

by:

Works as advertised. Thanks!

  • Which Scissor Jack Can Be Used for Changing Tires on 3500 lb Trailer
The scissor jacks we sell such as the # JSC-30-IND are meant to stabilize a trailer so it doesn't rock or pitch as you're walking around inside. The primary reason is that the jacks of this type that we carry aren't meant for changing tires is that the jacks are meant to be permanently installed on the underside of a trailer. If they're not bolted in place to the trailer frame, the jack could very easily slip off the jack and cause injury. A small bottle jack like # ALL640405 which has...

  • Trailer Jack to Lift Horse Trailer to Change Tire
We have a couple of options that you might like. First, you could use what is called a farm jack, # RP7033400. This is a stand alone jack meaning it does not get attached to the trailer. But farm jacks have many uses and will work well to help lift the trailer to change a tire. They're especially great on uneven terrain compared to other jacks. A similar device that is more compact is a bottle jack, # ALL640405. This jack is easier to store since it is smaller than a farm jack but is still...

  • Which Bottle Jack for 2018 Coachmen Apex Nano 193BHS Travel Trailer
I have a solution for you, but I don't believe the Powerbuilt # ALL640405 is going to provide the needed length of piston to lift a trailer that's already 22" from the ground; this unit is only capable of lifting up 12" and you won't want to stack up multiple boards under and on the bottle it to make it work. The best available solution would be the Powerbuilt Unijack Bottle Jack with Built-In Jack Stand - 21" Lift - 6,000 lbs # ALL620471, which can extend to 21" tall and has a 6000-lbs...

  • Bottle Jack Recommendation for Supporting Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer to Change Spare
The only type of trailer jack we can recommend for changing a trailer spare is a bottle jack like the part # ALL640405 which would work well with your Yakima Rack and Roll trailer like part # Y08107.

  • Could Powerbuilt Bottle Jack # ALL640405 Work on 2016 Kia Sorento
The Powerbuilt Bottle Jack # ALL640405 has the lifting capacity of 4,000 lbs. Your Sorento weighs near that depending on how it's equipped, but since this would not be lifting the entire weight of your vehicle and only one corner at a time it would work well. For a jack with more lifting height the part # ALL620471 which can lift 21 inches would be the better choice.

  • Recommended Bottle Jack for Utility Trailer Spare Tire Change
It is wise to keep a bottle jack handy for any trailer tire replacement. The vehicle jack is often designed to specifically go with that vehicle and the capacities can be very different as well as the style for proper function as the frames can be very different. For your 5x10 utility trailer, I recommend the Powerbuilt Bottle Jack - 6-3/16" to 12-1/16" Lift - 4,000 lbs # ALL640405 which depending on your loaded trailer weight should be more than sufficient. If you need more than 12-1/16...

  • Manual Operation of Damaged Lippert Auto Leveling Landing Gear System
If your 2015 Heartland Road Warrior 5th wheel is sitting too low to allow you to couple it to your 5th wheel hitch you can try operating your landing gear manually with the hand crank tool that should have been supplied. Even if the powered landing gear is not working manual operation should still be possible since all powered jacks and landing gear include this feature for cases where electrical power is lost. Look for a plastic cap on the top of the jack's gearbox housing, as shown in...

  • Alternative to Using Scissor Jacks to Lift a Truck to Change a Tire
Scissor jacks such as # UF48-979031 aren't designed to lift wheels off of the ground but just to provide support on trailers or RVs to limit side to side movement. What I recommend is a bottle jack such as # ALL640405 which costs less and is rated for much more weight.

  • What is Compressed and Raised Height of Scissor Jack # TJSC-24
The actual height when the Scissor Jacks part # TJSC-24 is fully compressed is 5 inches and fully extended is 23-3/4 inches. You should note that these aren't designed to lift a vehicle or trailer off the ground as they are only for stabilization. Instead you'd need a jack like the bottle jack part # ALL640405 to support a vehicle off the ground.

  • Can an Ultra-Fab Leveling Jack be Used to Change a Tire
We have better options because leveling jacks like the Ultra-Fab # UF48-979006 shouldn't be used to raise a vehicle. They're only for stabilizing despite their weight capacity. Instead you want something like the Powerbuilt bottle jack, part # ALL640405. It has plenty of capacity at 4,000 pounds and is for raising a vehicle like your X5 to change a tire. It's also pretty compact and not very expensive. Another option that's a bit of a step up is an electric scissor jack like part # PTW1609....

  • Will One Tire be Off the Ground on the Same Side the Anderson Rapid Jack is Used
Trailers tend not to have a suspension that travels 8 or more inches, which is the amount of lift provided by the Rapid Jack # AM3620. If the axles are far enough apart or the ground is not level it could be an issue though. That's why its tough to beat a good ol' bottle jack such as # ALL640405.

  • Fully Retracted Height of Powerbuilt 4K Bottle Jack ALL640405
The Powerbuilt 4K Bottle Jack # ALL640405 when fully retracted to its lowest height stands 6-3/16-inches tall. This is with the cylinder fully retracted and with the threaded top cap fully tightened.

  • Can Ultra-Fab Power Twin Stabilizer Jack Level a Trailer and Lift the Tires Off the Ground
Ultra-Fab stabilizer # UF39-941705 can be used to both stabilize and level trailer. But it is not designed to lift the trailer tires off of the ground. You would need to use a jack for that. I like bottle jacks such as # ALL640405 because they are compact and easy to store. This one is rated for 2 tons so that is more than enough to lift one side of the trailer to change a tire.

  • Can Scissor Jacks be Used to Lift an RV 1 Foot Off the Ground
Scissor jacks such as # JSC-30-IND are not meant to lift up vehicle or trailer so I do not recommend them for this application. What I recommend is to use leveling blocks such as # CAM44521 for a 10-pack. You can drive right up onto these blocks though it may be difficult to get it up to a foot tall without using a bunch of them stacked like a pyramid. Another option is to use a bottle jack such as # ALL640405 to lift the vehicle and then use the blocks or jack stands to hold the vehicle....

  • Can Blaylock EZ Jack and Wheel Chock Harm Trailer Tires or Suspension
None of our experience with wheel chocks like the Blaylock EZ Jack and Wheel Chock # EZ-JACK suggests that they present any risk of damage to a trailer tire or suspension. I suppose if someone drove up on theEZ-JACK and did not have the tire centered properly this would place more weight on only a part of the tire tread; naturally this would not be good but unless the tire already had an issue (incorrect inflation, excessive tread wear, etc) there should not be any negative results.
