Advent Air RV Air Conditioner - 15,000 Btu - White

The unit was very easy to replace. The old unit was a 13,500 Btu Dometic. I was told (by etrailer) this unit would be a plug and play type since I had a previous Dometic system. Both units have the same wiring system, and they do. I simply unplugged the quick connect from old unit, removed the cooling sensor from the fins, removed the 4 bolts securing the unit to the RV, replaced the old unit with the new upgraded Advent #ACM150 15,000 Btu unit. Repeated the procedure in reverse with the new unit and the process was complete. I'm 'EXTREMELY PLEASED' with the new Advent unit and the ease of switching both units out. Shipped quick , once was restocked, came in with small damages to outside shell and small dent on side, almost pinched copper line, should be packaged better from company for shipping (not an ETrailer issue)so far unit seems to be working better then the original (never worked) and replacement 13500 units that Camping World had put on trailer (took off another trailer) so I decided to buy my own to replace since no trust in Camping World and work performed1642067

Trailer the Best!!! Had a delivery problem with UPS had 2
Items and they only dropped the start capacitor. CALLED Etrailer AND TALKED TO TERRI she contacted UPS had the unit next day by 9:3
0 am. Removed old Duo Therm unit and Installed the Advent air had it running by 11 am Plug and play like it says. Have all 3 speeds the Duo Therm only had 2. Wood highly recommend this product!!!

Very good! The 1st one installed a capacitor failed outside temp was very hot and I was able to replace it. Worked Great with no problems after that!!

Have an 1999 Ford E-150 van used as an RV. I built a 30 amp box with 2-20 amp circuits several years ago. I and 3 doggies travel all over the SE for dog agility competitions. Loading and lifting a window A/C unit into the driver's side widow worked, but a major task. I cut and framed a hole in the van roof and installed the Advent ACM150. Had to install 12 volt system for thermostat and fish both 110 and 12 volt wire through walls and ceiling. A/C turned on perfectly the very first time I pushed the thermostat on button. Wowee...100 degrees outside; 69 degrees in the van. Absolutely life changing for me an my doggies. P.S. I am a nice 75 year old lady and still cannot believe I did this install all by myself. One year and miles later, this A/C is perfect!1258832

Its now been three years and AC is still working perfectly. We are absolutely delighted and super cool even on very hot days with van parked in the sun.

my order left etrailer within an hour of being placed. it arrived freight free 3 days later via ups. the ac was packaged very well and arrived without any visible damage. it is compatible with original thermostat and ceiling control box from a 2003 dometic 15000 btu duo therm . had to make a minor adjustment to the partition between the air chambers.the original ceiling plate was reusable as well.1753485

Joann and Emily in customer service were terrific to deal with.A/C unit was well packaged with corner braces. No damage to unit even with two corner seams were opening. Unit has well designed internal heat shields to protect A/C from sun. Unit arrived on schedule. Cannot thank E trailer and Advent enough for a great product. Priced below market. DOA on arrival. ETrailer would not take it back. Had to deal with manufacturing company who made me pay for a tech to run diagnostic to find out whats wrong. They sent the tech a check and I was never reimbursed. Would you buy something then pay money to jump through hoops to prove it was defective? Will never buy anything from etrailer again!1676497

I am so sorry to hear that this arrived DOA. I do see that per ASA, if an item arrives DOA on arrival, then it needs to be replaced. It seems that they wont have any replacements any time soon. We should be having some in our stock by the end of the year. Please let me know if you would like to wait for a replacement or if you would prefer to have a refund and return issued.

Installed this unit as a replacement for a OEM product. The chose this unit because it was a direct replacement model and thankfully it was, even down to the electrical plug. I’m very pleased with its cooling performance. I would give a five star except I consider the Advent to be noisier than the OEM product.1691900

I a really underwhelmed at this point. The unit is dented. I pulled the top to install the start capacitor I purchased with the unit and the run capacitor was out of its mount just flopping around. The wires going into the condenser case were not secured to the case. I got that stuff fixed fairly quickly, I hope it works correctly.1648660

The ease of installation to convert from a coleman mach series to an Advent is straightforward and quick. This was my first installation of a motor home roof mounted ac unit. I purchased the adapter plug with the templates for the conversion which I highly recommend. Yes I do have a little mechanical knowledge and experience, but anyone with a drill, the correct bit and reading comprehension can install this unit in 2 hours. Now I cheated removing and replacing the old unit with a crane. Yeah I know, overkill, but I was by myself and on the Texas coast 85 feels like 105, 105 degrees feels like a slow burning death. I plan on replacing my other coleman mach with the same unit that I did Saturday last weekend. Hope this review helps yall out. Thanks and God bless1652375

Super simple install. The hardest thing was getting it on the roof and the old one down. Simple plug and play. If you're at all mechanical you don't need to pay to replace your A/C unit. 6 screws to remove the inside cover, 4 bolts holding the unit to the roof, one main plug and a sensor wire. The sensor was just jambed into the factory condensor. The new unit actually had a clip in it for the sensor. I highley recommend this unit. Works great. We had a 100 degree day and the trailer stayed at 78 all day long.1287982

Our factory AC went out within 5 year of new purchase, very frustrating! Dealer that we purchased the camper wanted $[XX] for a replacement (AC only, no labor or tax included)……good grief! We searched for a better deal….then realized etrailer carried AC units. We had done business with etrailer in the past and always was satisfied. The replacement unit we purchased from them was almost half of what the dealer wanted. Great service, very knowledgeable staff, great website to include installation videos. I called ETrailer and discussed what kind of tv rooftop air conditioner I needed. They was extremely kind and helpful and really seemed to be very caring about what kind of unit I needed. I throughly enjoyed talking to each of the representatives. So I purchased two air conditioners and one with heat as well! This is where things turned very interesting and I started to get upset! I had a camping trip planned and ETrailer customer service assured me I would get it in plenty of time. The first one shipped and I never received it? They shipped me another one and it showed up in two different boxes and it was damaged and they were parts that didn’t belong to this air conditioner unit? I found a note inside the unit that I thought was new however it was a return from another customer! I had a mess! So I had to hire an electrician that could help me figure out what was going on! I paid for a brand new air conditioner that I did not receive, no discount or nothing! ETrailer customer service assured me they would get this taken care of and I believed them! They just made me believe they were going to get this air conditioner fixed! Then I had to ship the parts that didn’t go with this air conditioning unit back to ETrailer and then they shipped me the correct parts! It was a mess! I had to to hire a professional to install this air conditioning unit so we could go on vacation at Myrtle Beach SC for two weeks! This air Atwood air conditioning unit leaked like crazy all over my floors while we we out for the day! I had to keep a bucket under the air conditioning unit the whole time we were there! I called ETrailer to make them aware of this and they referred me to the manufacturer ( they gave me the wrong number) this got drugged out until finally I got the right number! The manufacturer was aware of this leaking problem and they shipped me a kit to correct this problem! In the beginning I tried to get a refund! ETrailer would not get me a refund! However they told me they might refund some money! You know at the end of the day it’s been one year since I purchased it and I’m still stuck with a air conditioner that I purchased from ETrailer that still leaks like crazy! ETrailer really puts on a show that they care and I do believe some of the customer representatives do care however ETrailer will not make this right! I purchased two air conditioners one of air conditioners is junk! Used junk that I pay full price for and countless phone calls and emails however at the end of the day or one year ago I still have the Atwood air conditioner that it damaged and it still leaks! I don’t enjoy camping because I don’t like carrying a bucket and I am a retired senior that is disabled but ETrailer company does not care! Would I ever make a purchase from ETrailer again! NO I wILL NOT! I rarely ever do a review on anything however ETrailer sent me this to do a review! I am not happy. I have been thinking about filing a complaint with the better business bureau? Advent lasted exactly 5 years on my unit I'm replacing. Fortunately I noticed a freon line touching a bracket inside and was able to bend it clear otherwise it would have worn thru and due to vibration caused a leak.1650520

Purchased this as a direct replacement for a Dometic unit on a 2007 Forest River Cardinal 5th trailer. Super easy installation. Hardest part was getting the unit onto the roof. I installed the unit by myself (up and down the ladder, inside and outside) yet still only took less than two hours to install. Works perfectly. Time will tell about long term reliability, but the installation went very well.
As far as etrailer - they had over a month lead time published when I purchased it. Completely understandable as they would have to bring it into stock, and an acceptable time frame for me. Received the unit in about two weeks, well ahead of expected time. Very pleased.1592107

Etrailer made it easy by listing the air-conditioners that would fit my rv. They also listed the parts that I would need in addition to the air-conditioner. Their videos helped me install it.
The air-contioner was easy to install. It works very well and is about the same noise level as the Coleman Mach 8 low profile that it replaced.1598526
