Fully welded vehicle trailer hitch is strong and durable. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. The combination of an E-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Fairly easy to put on (I recommend having 2 people to install it and putting the car up on ramps ) instructions were fairly easy to follow .(I recommend watching YouTube video as well )
My primary use for a hitch is to put a motorcycle carrier on it so I can carry my bike to the race track. Once I've found the type of carrier I wanted and the type of hitch it needed, I did quite a bit of research to see what was available and found this one. I've had it installed it, and just went on my first 4-hour trip. Everything worked great! This hitch works perfectly on my 2006 Ford Escape, and it works great for me to carry my bike to the tracks.
I purchased a hitch and wiring harness kit. The hitch had a real nice finish, fit perfectly, had a wonderful hardware and installation kit and went on in about 20 minutes. The wiring harness took a little longer to install but again was a real nice quality kit, went on in an hour and worked perfectly. The price was in line with the competition but the quality was better than others I have tried. I highly recommend etrailer.com and their products !!! Their customer follow up was great also!!!

Love the hitch and wiring, use it all the time. Just hauled the trailer 159 miles last weekend and everything works well. Very happy.
Installed without a hitch. lol. At 62 years old, lying on the ground in winter is not my idea of fun, but having watched the video, it was installed in 30 minutes, numb fingers and all. Ordered it on Sunday night, rec'd it on Thursday. Only problem was with customer service. I never rec'd notification that it was shipped until after I rec'd the hitch.
Two days later, I picked up my new trailer and towed it 120 miles with not problem. It worked as expected
Thanks

how much weight were you towing if you dont mind me asking, I just bought a 2010 escape and all the reviews im reading are people saying not to tow with it because the trans stinks. your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
The Drawtite receiver hitch looks great on my 2008 Ford Escape. It was relatively easy to install and did not require any drilling. All the hardware was first rate. The guide wires for the carriage bolt installation made a tough job easy. I can't wait to start towing my kayak trailer out to the lake!

The receiver still looks great after a year of frequent use. No complaints whatsoever.
Well I got my hitch over the weekend. Finally got some time to put it on and I must say, it was a breeze. No longer than 15 minutes ( if you have an extra hand) to put on and be done. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a hitch. I have not towed with it yet but I'm sure I will be pleased with the performance. Quality is unmatched. Very sturdy

It works great! Year later and still works like new. The right tools and 20 mins I did myself. Very easy. Watch the [online] video. Thanks etrailer!
If you will be installing this alone, be ready for some WORK.
Other than that, the thing fits as required and looks like it will be totally acceptable. Happily, it fit the car really well, so while I was schooching around on my creeper, I was able to hold it it place with just a 4x4 on a jack. (Keep the 4x4 short of the exhaust...)
And their "snakes" needed help. After an hour of fighting I gave up and made a snake of bailing wire, to which I bent their snake, and then things went forward.
Again: great fit. Obnoxious install - but that was predictable.

Thanks for the follow-up! Unusual these days, Im afraid. The hitch has done well couldnt ask for better. Use it about once a month, average, never any problems.
Super easy ,straight forward installation. Only took 1 hour by myself. Installation was on an 06 ford escape with no prior hitch.

Product is well built and has been a huge advantage to use on my 06 Ford escape. I just wish I would have done this upgrade years before I actually did. Very happy
I've put bolt on receiver hitches on other vehicles before. This particular model had some gotchas.
First, not all the right nuts came with it. See the picture. One of the nuts was missing, and it was replaced with a smaller size that isn't in parts list at all. We had to go to a hardware store to get the final nut needed.
The Escape has full box tube frame members. You have to use the ingenious bolt pulling wires included to thread into an opening, pull the blocks and bolts through the frame, and then out the right holes. It takes a long time to figure out the proper route from the instructions - they are the worst exploded engineering views I've ever seen from an ease of comprehension aspect. The videos are worth watching before installing.
I went through both block-n-bolt pulling wires - they give you two. I wrecked the first one with half the bolts pulled, and by the time I had the last bolt through, it had wrecked the second one. Whew! That was close.
I used jackstands to hold the hitch up while I bolted it up. You need to have deep well sockets with extension to do this part well.
You will have parts left over, since this comes with all the parts for all possible Escape tow package and transmission configurations.
Overall, it is a very well made, precision, solid hitch. More strength than we will ever need on this vehicle. Make sure you have all the right parts before you begin installation.
Got the hitch on, today, without any help. Being almost 70, I don't have the stamina to hold anything of this weight up from under the vehicle.
I used rope (yellow in the pics) to raise the hitch, winch like, from the rear, side mount holes on both sides. Used the jack to balance the receiver end.
Once it was close, I got the front carriage bolt set, and worked the hitch up to it.
After that, the other side went the same way.
Got the side holes aligned, once the front bolts were snug, using the jack.
Took a few hours, working very carefully.
Had to get the muffler out of the way. Really easy with the way (ala the old VWs) they make the rubber hangers.
The hitch is well built and sturdy, good instructions for installation and looks like it will hold up well. Some of the paint flaked off on the hitch around some of the corners during shipping. Also some flaked off over the welds. I don't think this is a big deal but just wanted to be honest.
The hitch looks a million times better on the back of my Escape than some of the others I've seen out there. By far the best looking hitch you can get. No gaudy square rails under the truck to see, or unfinished welded edges, etc.
Installation took me about an hour. I used a jack stand to hold up one end while I lifted the other. It was cumbersome but it worked. I recommend taping the bolts in place so they don't pop back into the frame rail when you lift the hitch up.
The Yakima Double Down 4 is well built and requires a small amount of assembly. I think its going to be a great item, haven't carried any bikes yet but plan to this weekend.
One thing, I wish e-Trailer would have suggested the Yakima Deadlock to go with the rack. I'm definitely going to want the lock for the rack and bikes. I will have to place another order but would have preferred to buy it at the same time.
Awesome service from e-Trailer. I will definitely shop here again. I appreciate the continued correspondence about my purchase.
Item is of good quality and straight forward on installation . Item was delivered very fast. I'm going to use it for a remote camping trip in the middle of nowhere. We needed it to haul extra items.

Great
I just installed my new Drawtite trailer hitch reciever today. Customer service was great to talk to on the phone when I had a question about my order and it only took a few days to receive. I installed it by myself and took about 45 minutes, though an extra set of hands could have been helpful to get the first 2 bolts started. Instructions are simple to follow and you only need a ratchet with an 11/16" deep socket to install. Technically you should use a torque wrench to finish the bolts which I did to 50ft lbs according to my installation instructions.
My hitch arrived on the day they said it would and with the easy to understand instruction I had it installed in an hour. No holes to drill. Everything was as advertised.

They are great
A great experience from the start. Easy ordering on the website. Great video instructions. Wonderful email follow up from ordering to delivery. Actually delivered faster than the estimate.
The eTrailer.com employees really care and it shows.
I am not a mechanic but I am handy. I installed it myself - no help. 2009 Ford Escape. I didn't need to jack up the car. I actually hung it from some frame holes with wire and then slipped in some old bolts temporarily. Once it was at an appropriate level, I snaked in the bolts and it worked like a charm. I found that using oversized holes in the frame for snaking purposes was a lot easier than trying to snake through the entire frame. So, if you have any oversized holes near the target holes, I would try to use to get the bolts and brackets through. In my case, I was fortunate and the holes for this purpose didn't need to be made larger.
Watch the videos that are provided!! I dropped the exhaust out of the way and I also dropped the spare tire to give myself enough room for installation. Once it was installed, the exhaust and the spare went back into position with no problem at all. I work slowly and probably not too efficiently. But less than two hours unassisted was a lot less than I thought it would be.
I've uploaded some pictures of the finished installation.
I can't say enough tood things. Price, quality and service at the top! Thanks so much.
The hitch fit the vehicle very well. Was a bit snug between the frame rails, but nothing a rubber mallet couldn't resolve. Watch the installation video first - it is extremely valuable, as the paper instructions from Draw-Tite are worthless. If you are installing the hitch by yourself, as I did, you might want to tape wire extensions on the bolt threaders after putting the vertical bolts into the frame. Then you can put the wire extensions through the vertical bolt holes on the hitch to act as guides while you lift it into place. If you can get a second person to help, so much the better.
Excellent service and product from e-trailer. Hitch arrived quickly, and fit well.
However, the installation of 75751, may prove to be very challenging if a 1-1/4 OEM hitch is already installed. In my case the edge of the original 1-1/4 OEM hitch partially infringed on the access holes in the frame, and the access slots at the end of the frame were not large enough to accommodate a bolt, so the carriage bolts required for the 75751 hitch could not be inserted into the frame. This eventually required use of a die grinder with a tungsten carbide bit to obtain the proper access hole clearance and allow the insertion of the bolts with the pull wire. I am very happy with the installed 75751 hitch. But just be ready for a lot of work with a full array of tools, especially if your original OEM hitch causes problems.
Etrailer.com helped me pick the right hitch(Draw - Tite 75751) for my 2009 Mercury Mariner. Standard shipping was fast and when the hitch arrived it was as described in listing. The video's and instruction's on their web site also aided in the installation of the hitch.
The only recommendation, you should list tool's needed. I had to purchase a 18mm deep well socket to torque bolts per instruction's.
I was very pleased with both your service and the product. It shipped quickly (to Hawaii no less) and the tracking information on your excellent website was appreciated. The communication from your staff and the links to installation tips were very helpful. For anyone attempting their own installation my advice is to watch the videos, read others’ comments and try to get someone to help. I perform most tasks myself but appreciated an extra pair of hands for this job. One last thing, when they suggest that the access hole on the driver’s side may need to be enlarged believe it! When you test it for size check the mounting plate PLUS the bolt. Also be patient and gentle when using the pull wire. It’s a well-designed system. Thanks!
This hitch worked perfectly for what I was needing. While I would have preferred a square hitch, etrailer didn't have one in a Class III designation. After successfully installing it on my 2011 Ford Escape, I think it looks just fine. I have yet to tow anything, but it looks like it will definitely be able to withstand the lighter loads I throw at it. The videos on their websites are very helpful!
I ordered my hitch on a Saturday and it arrived on Wednesday. The shipping box the hitch came in was damaged so I was afraid parts might be missing. Fortunately, all parts and instructions were still in the box because they were taped to the hitch. I removed the hitch and installation parts and did a quick review of the instructions. The printed instructions are not as helpful as the short video on the website so I recommend watching the video first. They send 2 pull wires. I destroyed the first wire pulling the first four bolts and blocks through. I used the second and final wire to pull the remaining 2 bolts and blocks through without destroying it. The trick is to carefully thread the wire off of the bolt by trying to keep its size integrity. I stretched the first wire too much when removing from the first bolt. Since I did the installation by myself, after installing the most forward bolt and nut on each side, I figured out that I could place a bolt through one of the rear holes from the outside to hold the hitch in place while I threaded the other bolt through the frame channel. It worked well. I did not have to use jack stands or rope to hold the hitch on place by using that technique. It took me a total of 40 minutes from opening the box and removing the contents to tightening the last bolt and pushing the exhaust pipe back onto the post. The only thing that I think would be a bonus would be to send a bolt puller wire for each bolt. They send 2 but since there are 6 bolts, some extra pull wires would be great. I did notice some slag (small bumps) on the Tubing that made the finish look less that perfect. The slag is obviously from the welding during the manufacturing process. The manufacturer could do some final cleaning after the welding process before it goes to the paint shop. At the end of the day, the damaged box, pull wires, and a little slag on the finish were not enough of an issue for me to give this hitch a less than stellar rating. It's well worth the money and I will recommend etrailer.com to others.
I bought the hitch and the wiring with absolutely no mechanical ability. Was a breeze to put on and everything works!!!! Now I can head out to the lake with the boat I recently purchased. Between the online videos and the directions with the hitch and wiring almost anyone can install these items.
Product installation was a breeze, once i deciphered the installation instructions. I was very pleased with the fit and finish of the hitch, and installation of my hitch went without a hitch! #punintended #baddadjokes.
I ordered the hitch on a Friday, it shipped the same day i ordered it, and it arrived on my doorstep on Wednesday as promised. Very quick shipping!
The only reason i didn't give this hitch a fifth star, was that it arrived gently "handled" by UPS. Perhaps the packaging could have been a bit sturdier in the area where the hitch punctured the cardboard packaging. Be prepared to have a can of glossy black spray paint, and some sandpaper, to ensure all exposed metal is covered prior to install; that's what i did.
I think It might be overkill for the 4cyl., but the price difference makes a towing issue not the hitch's. Unlike the class 2, the class three did not have a spacer. I didn't even jack up the Escape and tinkered with putting the wrong 4 washers on, then changing my mind. By myself, the hitch was an easy install. A little wondering if the hitch was square and level, but once you look at it. The receiver is off center with the tubes. Not necessarily in a bad way.

One year later Im still very happy with this product. Ive carried my bike around for about 2000 miles total this far, and everything has gone very well.
