Weight Capacities of Draw-Tite Class III Receiver # 75751 for 2008 Ford Escape
Question:
WHAT IS CAPACITY VERSES WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION CAPACITY?
asked by: NORM
Expert Reply:
Weight capacity is how much weight that can be towed when using a standard ball mount for the hitch. Weight distribution capacity is how much weight can be towed when using weight distribution system with the hitch.
I looked up the instructions linked on the product page for Draw-Tite part # 75751 and the capacities are listed as follows:
Weight Capacity When Using Ball Mount: 675 pounds Tongue Weight, 4,500 pounds Gross Trailer Weight
Weight Capacity Using Weight Distribution: 675 pounds Tongue Weight, 5,250 pounds Gross Trailer Weight
Please note that you'll be limited by the towing capacity of the vehicle itself, if its less than the capacities listed above.
I am including a link to a FAQ page on weight distribution that you might find helpful.
