Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

was sent a hitch for a 4 wheel drive when I ordered a hitch for a 2 wheel drive and company wants to charge $xx.xx to return after sending the wrong hitch. after contacting Nicole in chat mode she says they don't carry the 2 wheel drive hitch. so my only choice is to eat $xx.xx to return a defective product that did not fit my 1998 ford F-150 light duty 2 wheel drive

I am sorry to hear that your return process wasn't ideal. I looked into this information and found that our site was in fact wrong. I sent in an update to get this corrected, and I have sent this information over to our customer service department for them to see what we can do about the return shipping.

2002 Ford F-150

The trailer hitch itself is well made and overall excellent quality. The only reason it didn't get 5-stars is the same reason mentioned by many others. The directions leave something to be desired. A couple of extra diagrams would have made the job easier to figure out. That said, it was about a 2-hour install. One detail for my 2002 F-150, I would recommend removing the plastic bumper skirt. The extra 15-20 min to remove and reinstall it will save a significant amount of struggle trying to jam bolts and wires through the front of the frame rail, install spacers, and make the install much easier. Also, having an extra person to help hold the hitch in place while installing the bolts will make the job smoother. You can do it yourself, it's just more work and struggle. Overall, a great product. I'd buy it again.

by:

The hitch is working out fine,it's what you need up in the Badlands. See Attachment as picked up on the trail Cam. I can hook it on to the rear hitch if needed also.

The hitch is working just fine . It is always mounted on the truck and it get a lot of recognition, folks are impressed that I can operate the winch both front the front as well as the rear of the truck.

by:
2003 Ford F-150

Seems like a very stout hitch. Straight forward installation with all necessary hardware including pull wire. The hitch will add versatility as I can add inserts to carry cargo on the front, move trailers, and eventually support a portable winch.

by:
2001 Ford F-150

Installed on 2001 F150. Good product, easy to install, I did it in less than 1 hour. Directions list several wrenches needed, however all that was needed for this hitch was a 3/4" size. I used spacers on one side only, as I had about 1/4" gap total between hitch and frame. For those not familiar with the bolt pulling wires, feed the bolt end through the hole and out the box frame and then place the square backup spacer/washer and then screw carriage bolt onto the wire. Pull this into the box beam/frame and pull through the frame hole and the hitch.

I just finished installing my e-trailer front mount hitch on my 2002 F150 2WD it was painless exactly as described I'm very happy with the installation.
This is my third hitch purchase from e-trailer in the last several years I will purchase again quick delivery is great.

by:
1997 Ford F-150 and F-250 Light Duty

It was exactly as described assuming the weight specs are true. I am glad I discovered this product because I didn't want to cut into my bumper. Although, it is lower than I liked, it's not the fault of the product. I will, however, remedy that by adding a riser.

2000 Ford F-150

Exact fit. This was installed for winch mount for a 2000 F 150 . Extremely well built and very strong

by:

Perfect fit! Fast shipping and excellent communication! Officially ready for winter!

by:

Great quality and everything supplied for a complete install. Inserting the bolts and plates into the frame is a little tight, considered removing the bumper but I was by myself.

by:
2000 Ford F-150

A bit difficult to install by myself (it's heavy to lift while also putting bolts!) but I eventually got it on and it seems very sturdy. Since the instructions apply to a lot of different trucks there were a few places where I had to think a bit to figure out how they applied to my situation but in all cases once I figured out what to do I found the instructions had the info I had needed.

Still working great. I put a winch on this and have hauled many very heavy objects with no issues.

I had a hard time finding a front bumper trailer hitch for my 1999 Ford F-150 locally. After searching the internet I found etrailers. I called and the etrailer employee did additional research for me and found what I needed. Product was shipped and received in a time manner. I would rate them as an excellent business to do business with. Very professional and efficient. Good Job. Keep us the good work.

Received the Reciver Hitch on Wednesday, it took only 3 days to Idaho. So on Thursday afternoon installed it, only took 3 hours. The instructions were simple and direct, even the statement about the skid plated may need to be trimed. So on Friday put it to the test. Had to put a new 21 foot Hews Craft into covered storage, with only 4 inches on either side. It was quick and easy. I am very pleased and highly recommend this product and etrailer.com.

Ford F-150

This is a high quality hitch I installed it on a ford f 150 2 wheel drive.
I had a quarter inch gap on either side so used the supplied spacers
Once I decided to cut a notch in the spacer so I could put the bolt in first and then drop the spacer in, the install was quick and easy my Wife and I installed it laying on the ground and were in our seventies!

by:

The Front Mount Trailer Hitch mounting bracket holes precisely matched the holes in the frame of the truck. No guesswork, no alterations required and a minimal amount of swearing.

by:

  • Recommendation of Front Mount Hitch Receiver on a 1998 Ford Expedition 4-Wheel Drive for a Snow Plow
Looking at the installation between the front mount hitches that fit your 1998 Ford Expedition, the Curt, part # 31049, installs much higher where the license plate is normally mounted. The benfit is more ground clearance but you'll need to relocate your license plate using part # C31002. Also, on your Expedition that seems like an extremely high mounting point for a snow plow. The Draw-Tite, part # 65025, installs quite a bit lower, sitting under the front bumper and fascia. This takes...

For your 2003 Ford F-150 4x4 the Draw Tite front hitch part # 65025 is a confirmed fit so what I suspect is going on is that your hitch was bent in shipping which unfortunately isn't uncommon.
