Replacement Barrel Clip for Westin Platinum Series and Signature Series Round Nerf Bars - Qty 1

I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota with aftermarket running boards, brand name 'Force', one end of the drivers side pad popped up, right where I step (naturally!), found this clip to be the right size! Carefully tamped it in with a rubber mallet, happy with the results! 457682

Update: its October 2019 and the barrel clips are holding up nicely!

GM no longer makes replacement barrel clips for my 2005 GMC Sierra step pads. So I found etrailer that still can provide them. I spoke to a real human being at etrailer who provided fast, pleasant, high-quality service. The clips fit perfectly and I was able to use my existing pads with the new clips. Easy to install and it all looks like new.1298586

The product is great fit perfectly fine And it worked good on my Running-board.

Ordered replacement clips for my 2003 F250 plastic tread inserts that had deteriorated on my westin nerf bars. The barrel clips worked out great and thanks to etrailer for making them availible. I've ordered several front mounted 2" hitches on three of my trucks including a swing-away rear bicycle hitch from etrailer in the past and never had a problem. Great outfit to deal with. 356243

All is good with any items that Ive purchased thru etrailer.

The barrel clips aren't strong enough to keep the rubber pads locked in place on the nerf bars. It could be that the rubber pads are too stiff; possibly use a softer rubber. It could also be that the clips should be made of a stronger metal.
It doesn't pay to run a vehicle through a car wash because the car wash material somehow grabs the rubber pads and starts to pull them out of the nerf bars.179277

This is what probably happened in my case. going throught the car wash. Has anyone else had this issue? Any solutions. Lock tie, gorrilla glue?

We have had other customer complaints of the barrel clips holding the step pads. I have reached out to my contacts at Westin, and the suggestion that they offered is to install the barrel clips in the tube steps first, then slowly tap the pad prongs into the tube steps, during installation. This will then allow the clips to conform to the size of the tube steps and not the step pad.

These are a must have if your going to replace the rubber steps on the truck side rail (Bar).
Easy to put in the holes and they hold very good. Installed four and it only took 15 seconds, I already had the old ones out.88217

Great work like factory

I'm happy w/ quick and very good response from you guys (etrailer) but I'm honestly not happy w/ the product (replacement step pad for Westin Platinum Series) - the clips went in easy enough and the pad installed quickly/easily but the step is too loose. The pad moves every time you step on it. It has 4 plastic posts that hold it to the rail but the front one is so loose in the clip it does not stay down flat (pops up). Now, it gives traction better than the slippery chrome rail but doubt it'll last long and I'll probably be back to no step again soon.110308

After the oem clips failed on my 2005 Avalanche I thought for sure I would have to remove my step pads .One kept coming off when driving and I would have to turn around and get it out of the road. Then I found these (Chevrolet dealers no longer stock this part,must buy new step pads at $160.00 per side) I took a chance on these after seeing my style nerf step bars pictured on the etrailer site. WOW they arrived super fast and was the fix I needed. I am so pleased with how they worked. PERFECTLY. Wished I had ordered 4 more but I don't think I will ever have this issue again .Thanks for the great product and super service

I had some of the best customer service that I had the pleasure of experiencing in a long time! The vehicle that I own had running boards installed and I did not have any of the paperwork related to this purchase. The one step pad had fallen off and I needed to purchase the correct barrel clip to be able to re-install it. Debora at etrailer worked through all the possible options with me to order the correct item to accomplish this.

After having the Westin Step Bars on my 2005 Tundra for one year now, they still look like new and show no wear. They were easy to install and I thank Etrailer for the fast shipping and a great product.739225

The Barrel Clips are still doing their job, I run my truck through the Car Wash at least once a week and the Step Pads on my Nerf Bars have stayed in place ! Great fix these Barrel Clips are !

I purchased 4 clips to replace a step pad. 3 of the 4 worked fine. The clip on one end would not stay in and would not keep the step from pulling out. The hole does not look rusted or worn. I even tried switching clips. The clips are a little thin for this application. If they are a little thicker you maybe able to spread them to work better without breaking. 118034

There is another clip we carry, part # 23-0002, which may be a better fit for you depending on what steps you are trying to replace.

Ordered some barrel clips to replace the ones that had rusted away on my running boards for an 04 Avalanche. Clips were a perfect fit and I will probably order more. As usual etrailer has the goods and the service cannot be beat. Quick and precise at a good price. Cant beat them.332856

Great product at a great price! Exactly what I was looking for to replace my Westin Step Pad. Don't go to Amazon: buy them here! Watched video on YouTube on how to do it.... for me putting barrel clips into step bar hole and then aligning pegs on pad with holes works better - Just my opinion. 226308

They fit very nice and were easy to swap out with the old ones.
I was pleased.
The actual step was tough to get the front peg of the four on it to stay fastened down.
After being on the truck for a week it seemed to grab better with use entering and exiting the truck.
