How to Properly Measure for Cut-Out Dimension
There are two main dimensions you need to know when choosing a replacement access door or adding a new one to your RV:
The cut-out diameter is the width of the circle needed to ensure the access door mounts flush to the wall of your RV.
The mounting depth is the depth needed behind the mounting surface for the access door's hatch to properly fit.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra Electric Cable Hatch for RVs. This is for use with RV electrical cables up to thirty amps. It's going to come with the instillation putty tape and the necessary mounting hardware. That's just going to be three mounting screws. The hatch will swing open all the way, allows for easy access. It's all going to feature this sliding door right here.
That allows for the cable to pass through the main hatch when the hatch is closed. When your plugs not being used, you can keep that door down. That's going to keep unwanted items out of the stored area. Again, when the cable's not being used. Overall dimensions of the unit, taking a look at the overall diameter first. It's going to be about four and one quarter of an inch.
Overall depth, very back to very front's going to be about two and three-eighths of an inch. Now it does require a cutout for instillation. Take a diameter measurement of this is going to be about two and seven-eighths of an inch. That's going to be about the size of the cutout that's needed. The unit is colonial white in color. It's going to feature three mounting holes.
The mount hole separation on center, it's going to be about three and three-sixteenths of an inch. That's going to be the same separation between each set of holes. This area right here is going to give us a diameter of about three quarters of an inch. The main opening is going to give us a diameter measurement of about two and five-eighths of an inch. That's going to give us an internal depth of pretty close to two inches.
That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra Electric Cable Hatch for RVs.

Why did it chew through this one and had never chewed through the other original one in a couple years? Need to carry stainless steel inserts over the grates, perhaps you do.
Love the service, parts came early so not to hold up my project, will keep using etrailer as long as I have vintage trailers
