Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Prayers answered! Thank you etrailer for helping me find my way out of my hitch nightmare. These folks know their stuff inside and out. The product fit better than a glove and the install was very straightforward. In less than 2 hours I’m finally on the road again. Every employee I encountered was polite, knowledgeable and professional. Thanks again.

It was a perfect fit. Wish all projects went this well.

I have purchased a trailer hitch for my F150, and recently for my fiance's Mazda CX7. They were both super easy to install, with step by step directions included. I am a repeat customer because of the value, quick shipping, and ease of installation. When it's time for a new vehicle, I will be ordering from etrailer.com again.

by:

Product arrived quickly and complete! I installed in about 11/2 hours by myself. Excellent quality and heavy duty!

AwesomePerfect fit for my 2007 F150 CrewCab! Installation wasn't bad considering I did it by myself. Highly recommended STRONG hitch. Truck will fail before the hitch does. Thanks etrailer for the free FAST shipping.

When the package arrived, the hitch had busted through the box, the box had been packaged taped over other holes, from who knows when. Working in the retail business, I can say this appears to be a returned product, which was re-packaged as best it could be. The instruction sheet is full of holes and mostly unreadable, luckily I can print another. I just wonder, if I were to try to return the product in the original torn up packaging, would it have passed return inspection. I still give it a 4 out of 5, due to the great quality of the products etrailer carries and as a return customer, this has never happened before.

This was a perfect fit for the truck I installed this on. Was easy install with the instructions and all the hardware that was needed.

Arrived quick, went on pretty easy. I suggest you install the bumper spacer last. First I thought the spacer would not fit, but it does.

  • How to Determine the Correct Rise or Drop for a Pintle Hitch with Ball and 2010 Ford F-150
The short answer is it depends on the height of the trailer. You want to tow the trailer level or as close to level as you can get so you will adjust the height accordingly. I have included a link to an FAQ article that will help some though it does not cover pintle hitches. The principles remain the same though.

  • Availability of Class IV Hitch for 2006 Ford F-150 XLT with Factory Hitch
The Draw-Tite Class IV hitch you referenced, part # 41933, does fit only the 2006 F-150 without the factory hitch. You can check your hitch to see if it was bolted into place or welded. If it was bolted to the truck's frame then you can remove it in order to allow installation of the Draw-Tite # 41933. If it was welded on then you do not have a simple option for upgrading to a Class IV hitch. If you wish to advise the brand and part number on the factory hitch I can contact the manufacturer...

  • Can Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch 41933 for 2006 Ford F-150 Support Loaded Joe Hauler Motorcycle Carrier
The Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 41933 has a tongue weight capacity of 1,000 pounds. But you will want to check the owners manual for your 2006 Ford F-150 to determine its capacity. Whichever is lower, the truck or the hitch, is the capacity you need to go by. In order to be able to carry the motorcycle and the carrier you will need a tongue weight capacity of at least 675 pounds based on the weights you have provided. You will likely see some rear end sag on the truck. To prevent this you...

  • Trailer Hitch and 7-Way Wiring Kit for 2008 Ford F-150 Crew Cab
The hitch I suggest for your 2008 Ford F-150 Crew Cab without factory hitch is the Hidden Hitch # 41933. The hitch installs without drilling using included hardware. I suggest the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # EBMK4 since it provides you with flexibility for towing thanks to its two ball mounts and two sizes of hitch ball. It even includes a pin and clip and a handy carry bag. To convert your 4-pole wiring harness to a 7-way type that also carries 12V power and braking signals for a trailer,...

  • Class IV and V Trailer Hitch Options for a 2006 Ford F-150 STX
Hey Cynthia, thanks for reaching out! We've got the Draw-Tite Class IV # 75506 and the Draw-Tite Class V # 41933 that fit your 2006 Ford F-150 STX as long as it doesn't have the factory hitch. I've attached some installation videos of these hitches for your reference. If you need some help with the installation, then I recommend checking out the linked installer locator to see what shops in your area are able to do hitch installs.

  • Will the Draw-Tite Class IV Trailer Hitch Fit on a 2007 Ford F-150 With the Saleen S331 Body Kit
I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite and he said the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Class IV Hitch, # 41933, is not a confirmed fit for your 2007 Ford F-150 with the Saleen S331 body kit. That is not to say that it will not fit, the manufacturer has not had the chance to test it with the Saleen S331 kit. I did some research and it looks like most trailer hitches that are made for the 2007 Ford F-150 will work with the Saleen S331 kit, but they will not hide behind the license plate and in some...

  • Comparing Class III and Class IV Trailer Hitches for a 2008 Ford F-150
There are going to be several differences between a Class III trailer hitch and a Class IV trailer hitch like Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 41933. One difference is how each attaches to the truck. The Class IV hitch requires more attachment points. I have included a link to the installation details for this hitch below that better illustrates where and how the hitch attaches to the truck. Even though there may be more attachment points, we still have the install difficulty rated at a 3 out...

  • How to Determine When Weight Distribution is Needed
The Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 41933 is compatible with weight distribution but to determine if you need to use a weight distribution system you will want to go by the weight of the trailer. We recommend using a weight distribution system when the trailer weighs 50 percent or more of the vehicle weight or if the rear of the vehicle is sagging. I have included a link to our FAQ article on weight distribution for you to view. If you determine that weight distribution is needed you will need...

  • Does a 2012 Ram Have to Use Weight Distribution When Towing 19 foot Travel Trailer
As long as your truck seems to be handling the weight of your trailer when it is loaded without any noticeable sagging of the rear suspension you wouldn't necessarily have to use the weight distribution system. You most likely would get an improved ride quality when using it still as long as it is properly rated for your tongue weight. The most common recommendation we make a WD system for is if the weight of the trailer is more than 50 percent of the towing capacity for the vehicle. I...

  • Installing a Trailer Hitch and a Brake Controller with Wiring Harness on a 2007 Ford F-150
We have everything you need to install a trailer hitch, brake controller and wiring harness on your 2007 Ford F-150 5.4L Triton. We can start with a trailer hitch. There are many trailer hitch options that are available for your truck, but should keep in mind that aftermarket trailer hitches will only fit on your truck if you do not have a factory hitch installed. You could go with a Class III or a Class IV hitch. A Class III Hitch like the Draw-Tite Max Frame Trailer Hitch, # 75506,...

  • Making a 3-Receiver Trailer Hitch for a 2007 Ford F-150
I can certainly help you with the parts you will need to add a 3-receiver hitch to your 2007 Ford F-150. First, a custom fit trailer hitch will not work for this application. What I recommend is a raw steel weld-on hitch such as # 15901. Then you could weld on a couple of receivers # E-9 to create a 3-receiver hitch. All welding should be performed by a qualified professional welder. After welding I recommend painting the hitch because the raw steel can rust.
