Availability of Class IV Hitch for 2006 Ford F-150 XLT with Factory Hitch
Question:
Hi, I am looking at Item# 41933. Its a Draw-Tite Class IV and V Ultra Frame Receiver Hitch - 2006 Ford F-150. My question is, it says without factory hitch. My truck came with a hitch installed and I dont see any other options for a IV class hitch for a truck with a factory hitch. Its a 2006 F150 XLT 5.8 SuperCrew. Will this fit it or is there a different hitch? Thanks

The Draw-Tite Class IV hitch you referenced, part # 41933, does fit only the 2006 F-150 without the factory hitch. You can check your hitch to see if it was bolted into place or welded. If it was bolted to the truck's frame then you can remove it in order to allow installation of the Draw-Tite # 41933.
If it was welded on then you do not have a simple option for upgrading to a Class IV hitch. If you wish to advise the brand and part number on the factory hitch I can contact the manufacturer to see if it can safely be removed.
Some hitch makers offer hitches that can work WITH a factory hitch in place (giving you two complete hitch receivers) but for your truck there is no such item offered.
For reference I have linked two articles with helpful tips for hitch installation.
