Hidden Cross Tube for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible. The hitch's cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame, behind your rear bumper. No drilling or welding is required. Once the hitch is installed, only the receiver will be visible beneath your bumper. This means that your vehicle can maintain its stylish, from-the-factory look, and you won't have to do any major modifications to its body or frame.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will withstand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

Installed it in about 1-2hrs, it was bolt on and ready to go. Haven’t tried it yet pulling it hauling, but I’m ready for this summer camping and road tripping.

great instructions. I was apprehensive but got through it fine.

I recommend watching the video. It looked like it could be a pain, but it was actually fairly simple. Easy installation and professional finish!

Product was exactly as described. The instructions were not as clearly stated as the video. I got more valuable info from your video than the paper instructions. Nether the paper or video stated anything about checking for sensors in the bumper as well. None the less the video on this site was very informative and helpful. Keep up the good work and I appreciate good reviews and quality products you provide. Thanks again.

The Subaru hidden hitch is just that, a hidden hitch. A person has to look for it and no sore shins from an exposed hitch. thanks for a good product, again.

Absolutely no issues, best part of the whole thing was the installation video, never had better directions. Been happily hauling 4 bikes on the back of my Subaru since installation.

No complaints, used it as tow point attachment to get my car out of snowy ditch, love the exit angle never scrapes on steep driveway.

My Eco-hitch has worked very well on my 2018 Subaru Outback. It is used for my Saris bike rack. No complaints.

2016 Subaru Outback Wagon

I can't say enough good things about etrailer. My order was processed, shipped and arrived less than 48 hours after placing my order. I received updates and support information during that time as well. I went to the installer recommended by Ecohitch and got the installation done in a reasonable time and price. It looks great on the car and doesn't compromise the integrity of the frame like a drill installation might. Thanks for your help.

2019 Subaru Outback Wagon

Although not yet confirmed for the 2019 Outback, I suspected it would fit since the platform has not changed since 2017. Installation and fit was perfect. I watched a video first and then followed the steps in the manual. With all tools in place, it took me 1:42 hr to complete start to finish. There were no issues or missing steps in the manual.

by:

Great hitch, only receiver shows. Relatively easy installation.

by:

love it! very concealed and looks like it was stock with the car and works perfectly.

  • Maximum Tongue Weight Capacity of 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon
The maximum capacities are indeed set by the vehicle manufacturer; trailer hitches are often made to withstand values that go past those capacities but you do need to abide by the maximum capacities set by your owner's manual. I took a look and for your 2017 Subaru Outback the maximum tongue weight is in fact 200 lbs. So no matter what hitch you are using, including aftermarket options like the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75673 or EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7267, which...

  • What is the Measurement From the Hitch Pin Hole to the Rear of the Hitch
There is going to be roughly 2-1/2" on the EcoHitch Hidden Hitch # 306-X7267 from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear of the hitch, so there's not going to be any issues using any accessories like a bike rack on this vehicle. I've linked the installation of this hitch on a similar Subaru Outback for you to reference back to if you're going to be installing this yourself.

  • Weight of EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receivers for a 2018 Subaru Outback
In regards to the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2018 Subaru Outback, the part # 306-X7267 has a shipping weight of 27 lbs.

  • Compatibility of EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Receiver and Yakima Hold Up Evo on 2017 Subaru Outback
If you have the 2 inch EcoHitch # 306-X7601, then the 2-1/2 inch from hitch pin hole to outermost bumper will have no issues when using the Yakima HoldUp EVO 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches # Y02479 or 4 bike # Y02479-2. It will be very similar to the Crosstrek videos I've attached regarding clearance space for your reference. If you have the 1-1/4 inch receiver # 306-X7267, you will have about the same clearances, but you would then need to use the Yakima HoldUp EVO 2 Bike Platform...

  • Best 1-1/4" Hitch Available For The 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon
The best 1-1/4" hitch receiver option for the 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon is the Class II Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C12136 because it provides a couple inches more of ground clearance compared to the other 1-1/4" hitch options. The hitch ground clearance is important when carrying accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers to avoid them accidentally scraping the ground in low ground clearance situations.

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon
All good! The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch item # 306-X7267 you are looking at is confirmed to fit the 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon. This is a class II hitch with a 1-/4" receiver. We do have an installation video I have linked below that will show you exactly how to get this hitch installed. If you are needing a 2" receiver we also have the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch item # 306-X7601 that installs in a identical way.

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2011 Subaru Outback
That sounds pretty sketchy. Never heard of a conversion kit with bolts that will make a hitch fit a car it's not designed for. The hitch you were looking at Item # 306-X7267 only fits the 2015 - 2018 Subaru Outback so using different sized bolts isn't going to help when the holes don't line up. If this isn't what you have and would like to send me a part number so I can verify it'll fit you can either email me directly or post it in the comment box below. For a similar style hitch that...

  • Recommended Hidden Trailer Hitch For A 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon
The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7267 technically can fit a 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon, but it is actually being phased out. This is due to the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receivers # 306-X7601 (2") having a few improvements and replacing it. These will fit 2015 to 2019 Outback Wagons as well and will be the better option for your vehicle. Especialy since it has a 2" receiver opening.

  • Is there a Video Showing How to Install an EcoHitch on a 2018 Subaru Outback
Installation of the 1-1/4 inch EcoHitch # 306-X7267 will be the same as the 2 inch version, # 306-X7266, which we do have a video on, see link. The vehicle in the video is a 2017 Outback but it will be the same on your 2018 Outback.

  • Comparing Class II Trailer Hitches for 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon
The Class II hitch I recommend for your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon is the Draw Tite hitch part # 36493 if your plan is to carry a hitch accessory like a bike rack or cargo carrier as it does not require a stabilizer strap like the Curt does. If you are looking for the most hidden option the EcoHitch part # 306-X7267 is the way to go as only the hitch opening hangs down below the rear bumper. The drawbacks to this hitch are that it costs quite a bit more and the install is more involved....

  • Parts Needed to Install the EcoHitch Part # 306-X7267 on a 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon
The only thing you will need to install the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7267 on your 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon is basic tools like sockets and wrenches. The rest of the parts needed for installation like the hardware, is included with the hitch. I do however recommend using the hitch cover part # 22281 while the hitch is not being used as this will prevent rust from forming inside the receiver tube opening.

  • Best Frame Mounted Hitch Platform Bike Rack for 2016 Outback Wagon and Hitch Assembly
For a hitch for your 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon the EcoHitch part # 306-X7601 is the best option. It's well hidden, 2 inch in size, and will do a great job carrying a bike rack. Best option that covers all your criteria for a bike rack is the Thule EasyFold part # TH903202. It grabs the bikes at the frames like you need since you have bikes with fenders and can tilt down pretty far if needed. Check out the picture to see that. Also check out the review video I attached for more info as well.

  • Is There Ground Clearance Difference Between Draw Tite and EcoHitch for 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon
We had the chance to install the Draw Tite hitch part # 76227 on a 2018 Subaru Outback wagon and we found that the distance from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground was 16 inches which is the same distance as when we installed the EcoHitch part # 306-X7267 on the same Outback. This means there is no real difference in ground clearance for either. I attached install videos for both hitches for you to check out as well.

  • Recommended Concealed Hitch for a 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon
Yes, there is a hidden hitch that has a 2" receiver for your 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon. It is the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 306-X7601. In order to tow with this hitch you will also need a wiring harness item # HM11143865 and a ball mount kit item # C45534. I have linked an installation video below of the EcoHitch item # 306-X7601 being installed on a 2019 Outback so you can understand the process.
