Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located at the rear, near the passenger's-side frame rail.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

It was plug and play and worked well

by:

I bought this and it came in early. I gave this a 2 star only because it was easy to install. Now maybe I may not be the most tech friendly but I wired it up and plugged into the boat trailer and turned lights on and nothing was happening. took my dads truck back and plugged it in and turned running lights on and they worked on the trailer. My green and yellow wire were both reading 12 ohms I don’t understand the issue and even tried to look things up but nothing was helping as to why both of those which I believe are the turn signal wires are so high and more than likely causing the issue but who knows.

by:

Nice product, got it fast. Best price for mine right here.

by:
2003 Nissan Frontier

Package has everything needed for an easy install. The hardest part was drilling the hole and fastening the ground strap. Instructions are very clear so if you are needing a trailer wiring harness, this has got to be the best.

After a year, the hookup, which was very easy to install, is still working well. Id buy it again if needed.

by:
2001 Nissan Frontier

It's worked flawlessly ever since I installed it on my truck. I highly recommend it for anyone that uses anything requiring a wiring harness.

by:
2003 Nissan Frontier

Your product was easy to install on my 03 Nissan Frontier. Once a low voltage was detected, your technician Tommy helped me troubleshoot the problem quickly and after moving ground wire, the product works great. Also the ordering process of the product was the easiest on line experience I have ever had. Product arrived quickly even with economy shipping. Thank you!

The proper gauge of wire, connectors and more than enough length.

Works as advertised

The left side of the connector does not work. My pop-up camper was almost hit because there is no power to ignite signal especially entering freeway or highway. No one can help to resolve this.

Were you able to get the wiring harness to work? Normally if use the left side is not working it is a ground issue. I recommend making sure the ground is attached to a clean bare metal surface. If that does not help, take a circuit tester and make sure you have current going into the wires of the black converter box. If you have power there and not on the wires coming out of the converter box then the box has gone bad and you will need to replace the harness.

by:

Installed in minutes. Haven't tried this on trailer yet but everything went as instructed. Shipping was 3 days quicker than estimated.

by:
1998 Nissan Frontier

Very good like I spected it saves me a lot off time and quick and easy to connect it...

by:

Exactly what I needed and in the time frame stated. This will be my go to company for everything trailer related I. The future.

by:
2001 Nissan Frontier

Installed really easy . Worked like it is supposed . I’ll buy more from etrailer in the near future.

Easy install. I have no regrets. Just s atisfaction.

Working great - no problems at all

by:

Ordered the wiring harness for my vehicle. Installed it on my truck without cutting and slicing wires. Connected it to the trailer and the lights work as designed. Nice! Drilled a hole for the ground, zip tied everything to the existing mounting holes, and it all looks good.

by:

This is the second custom fit wiring harness I have bought from etrailer. For some reason, the first one failed at the worst possible time - when I went to hook up a trailer! I think I just got a bad one. So, I now have my second one installed and really found it useful to pick up one of those small light testers to plug in before you have plans to pull a trailer. I try to run that test at least I day prior to ensure everything works as advertised. So far, I am not disappointed and checking the day prior leaves little to chance when you're going to pick up a trailer.

by:
Nissan Frontier

The wiring harness was exactly what I had ordered and required to hookup my trailer lights to balance the lighting circuit. Installation was simple and plugged directly into my existing wiring and the product works perfectly. Delivery was very fast and price was very good. Thanks and I will definitely be a repeat customer

by:

It was plug and play for the wiring connector . Securing the wiring out of the way , running ,the 4 way flat plug and drilling the hole for the ground wire took longer then mounting the hitch. I used dielectric grease on the plug ends and the ground wire screw, then put silicone sealant on both sides of the ground screw. Tested the plug , every light works as it should . Very happy.

by:

The trailer wiring harness I purchased came to me with in two days. The instructions were clear and helpful, and the plug-ins matched my truck's wiring perfectly. It took 30 minutes from start to finish to install and worked as it should first try! I ordered by phone and found the etrailer people extremely helpful. I have since ordered other parts from them. This will be my go to shop for all of my trailer needs.

by:
2003 Nissan Frontier

Fast delivery. Did not work with rusty ground on underside of truck bed. Works perfectly now that I wire brushed ground wire attachment point down to shiny bare metal of truck frame. Works with LED trailer lights.

by:
2002 Nissan Frontier

I ordered the T-one Vehicle Wiring Harness to add a trailer adapter to my 2002 Nissan Frontier and it took four days to recieve through standard mail. Due to a couple days of rain I was delayed with the installation. It took only about 30 minutes for the complete installation process, including adding a couple of extra zip-ties to secure the wires, and the lights on the trailer all worked. I will have no problem recommending etrailer.com to my friends.

by:

The unit was ok and average install. HOWEVER, after explicitly inquiring about a need for a relay setup for my 2003 Nissan Frontier, Kaliegh said the "black box" would perform that function. IT DOES NOT. YOU NEED NISSAN PART #999T8-BQ000.

Etrailer Expert

Jenny N.

I checked with the manufacturer about needing an additional part from Nissan to enable to the harness to work. There currently has not been a record of the relays being needed for your 2003 Nissan Frontier pickup on our end. Most of the time if there is no listed requirement for the relays suggested on our site it means that Nissan already installed the relays onto the vehicle for you. With the vehicle being a 2003, it is possible those relays were moved or relocated for other needs previously.

Nissan

I recently called etrailer and they helped me to order the proper parts for my Nissan truck. The order was shipped and received in 4 days. I was very surprised to see the high quality of both the trailer hitch and the wiring harness. From the time I opened the box to the time I was ready to hook up my trailer was less than 45 minutes. The hardest part was getting up off the ground at my age of 73.
I could not be happier with what was supplied to me. High quality and a perfect fit.
I would definitely would recommend and plan to use etrailer for all my future needs.

  • Trailer Lights Do Not Work After Installing Wiring Harness 118362 on a 2002 Nissan Frontier
First, make sure that you have the white ground wire from harness # 118362 grounded to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface. If the converter box is not properly grounded, then the circuit will not be completed, and the voltage will not make it through the converter box. If that does not solve the issue, then use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 if you do not already have one to test the wires leading into the converter from the truck. If the signals are correct, then test the...

  • Wiring a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2006 Nissan Frontier
In order to determine the wiring functions of the factory wiring on your 2006 Nissan Frontier, you will need to test them with a circuit tester like # PTW2993. Someone will need to sit in the truck and turn on and off the lights, blinkers, and so on while you test the wires. Once you have determined the color/function of each wire, you can wire in the new 7-Way as follows. If looking at the BACK of the 7-Way where the wires attach: 1 o'clock position = running lights 3 o'clock position...

  • Recommended Easy to Install Trailer Wiring Harness for 2002 Nissan Frontier
In order to add trailer wiring to your 2002 Nissan Frontier without the tow package I recommend using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118362. This will give you a 4 way wiring harness to tow a small trailer without brakes on your Frontier and Tekonsha harnesses are extremely reliable over time. This harness installs easily by teeing into your vehicle lights and there isn't anything that needs to be hard wired like the last harness, so there's nothing...

The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness is plug and play and then the 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat plugs into this but does require a few other wires to be ran. Other than the fact that they are made by two different manufacturers, the only difference between these two wiring harnesses is having the ability to disconnect the 4-way flat connector from the converter box on the Hopkins harness. • Trailer Lights Not Working with Wiring Harness 118362 on a 2001 Nissan Frontier
It sounds like there could be a ground issue with the main trailer ground and/or the grounds to the lights. Make sure that all the trailer grounds are attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. If the trailer is aluminum, you may need to ground the lights with the main trailer ground instead of to the frame. Similarly if it is a tilting trailer or if it has a folding tongue then it is most likely a ground issue and you will want to change the way the grounds are run by...
