Question:
I need a bolt-on receiver hitch for my 2003 Nissan Frontier Dessert Runner, its an extended cab, with a 6foot 2inch bed. Its a 3.3L V-6 auto. Will the #13842 work? Id hate to have to send it back. Thanks,

We have a few trailer hitches that will work for your 2003 Nissan Frontier Desert Runner. From my research I found that the Desert runner is a King Cab with a short bed. If your truck is a different model just let me know and I will make recommendations that will work for you.
For a King Cab I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 13831. This is a Class lll hitch and has a 2 inch receiver opening. I have attached a link to an installation video you can check out.
If you have the Crew Cab with a short bed I recommend part # 13841, and if you have a Crew Cab and it has a long bed I recommend part # 13842.
All of the hitches mentioned are Class lll hitches with a 2 inch receiver opening.
If you plan on doing some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If you need trailer wiring I recommend the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118362. This plugs into the connection points along the frame rail of the truck and requires no cutting or splicing into the truck wiring.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
