If it's just a 4-Way Flat connector like the T-On # 118786 then I would be surprised to see that much power being pulled to the back of your 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, but if you have a 7-Way like what we find with the Wiring Kit # ETBC7 then 3.6V on the 12V power pin isn't out of the ordinary and you'll be fine.

I've dealt with this issue in the past and Roadmaster stated that there shouldn't be more than 1/8" gap, otherwise you'll get two much play and can start to get friction. This may seem like an obvious suggestion but you will need to make sure the T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, # C55050, is directly connected to the positive battery terminal on the vehicle via the included fuse and holder. Any other 12 volt source is not sufficient.

The black and yellow wires together in their own connector are for power (black wire) and left turn signal (yellow wire). Use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to determine if the black wire has power on it when plugged into the factory plug. the vehicle may or may not have to be turned on.

It sounds like you have a short in the blue brake wire somewhere between the brake controller and the 7-way connector at the rear of your Jeep, especially since you said the error codes show up with no trailer connected.

I believe we are running into one of 2 issues. I believe the issue may be with the LED taillights that you installed 6 months ago. Depending on how they are controlled that might be where the issue is coming from. It could have its own circuitry that is causing the power to crossover and that is why you are seeing both turn signals going when they shouldn't be.
