Troubleshooting T-One Harness On 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee With Intermittent Blinker

Question:

I purchased a T one wiring harness from you several years ago for my 2010 Jeep Cherokee. No problems with the installation or operation so far. I do have a problem now though. The drivers side blinker does not oprerate all of the time. It acts as if the bulb is burned out, though it is not. This problem is intermittent. I did check for loose connections, but did not find any. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Many times corrosion can cause problems like you are describing on your 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee. A loose ground can cause intermittent problems as well. You want to make sure the ground wire is attached to a clean, bare metal surface.

If you find green and/or white corrosion inside the connector, that will probably be what is causing the problem. You will need to clean this corrosion out and make sure the connections are secure.

If you have it cleaned out and find it is working, I recommend using some dielectric grease like part # 11755 on the connections. It keeps dirt and moisture out of the connections and helps prevent corrosion.

If everything checks out okay and shows no signs of wear or corrosion, the connector may have simply gone bad and needs to be replaced. If you need to replace the harness I recommend the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118425. This quickly installs using the connection points behind the tail lights. I have attached a link to an installation video for this harness you can check out.
